UGH. Does that mean those that are now gone can come back for an additional year? LOL

More and more the changes being made are ruining the sport of college BB.
I can see giving them a 5th year to finish their undergraduate degree but not an additional year of athletic eligibility.

Actually I understand this and have supported it in the past. Although it will be abused like everything else.

But I am a perfect example. I played baseball in college in the early 2000s. I took full credit course loads every single semester. Including a winter course once and yet it took me 5 full years to graduate due to the unnecessary amount of credits needed.

As a result I only played 4 years of NCAA baseball despite being a qualified full time student for 5 years all at the same school.

Now if I had taken less than full time credits or failed a bunch of courses I would understand not being granted the 5th year but in my case and I’m sure millions of others it makes sense.

This is beyond ridiculous---unlimited transfers with no sit-out, junco years do not count against DI eligibility, the players all signed with agents, instead of 5 years to play 4, let's give a full 5 years eligibility, oh yeah, don't forget P4P $$$. This is completely out of control !!
Iamthisclosetosaying ef the whole thing & just pull the plug on college BBall.

thats what will happen. it used to be alumni connection to the school that made college sports great. it's gone. its just for the few major schools who have always treated it like professional sports without any connection to the school. it will just be a feeder league for teams like alabama, texas, ohio state, etc. did alabama university win or alabama the brand? its moving from the former to the later

I've got no problem with giving the athletes a 5th year to finish their degrees, and paying for their credits to do so.
But, keep it to 4 years playing eligibility.

Do you really think that these athletes that are at their 3rd or 4th school are going to graduate? They will be lucky if half their credits will be acceptable at each school. It's all just a money grab now.

The sport is ruined already as this is another example of the power schools pushing its own agenda

NIL is good for the ncaa and tv money. You can still keep good players in college if they arent 1st rounders. Make a nice chunk of change instead of going.to the draft and ending up in the g league or overseas
