Jayden Hodge

Jayden Hodge (or even Matt if he say, leaves Nova after a coaching change) would be game changers. Coaches Francis and Whalen were both in the building last week when St Rose shredded Rutgers Prep and Jayden dropped 30 and 12 and he wasn’t even 100% after an injury that caused him to miss the season opener. I saw Coach Francis when I first walked into the gym, introduced myself and said keep an eye on Hodge. Yes it was a captain obvious quip but 30 points definitely got their attention. Also there was more coherent offense and defense from a well coached St Rose team than I’ve seen from SHU all season.

Matthew Hodge was ruled academically ineligible and is redshirting due to not meeting minimum NCAA requirements from his coursework in Belgium and at St. Rose. Hopefully he will be eligible next year and just as importantly, hopefully Jayden will avoid the same fate.

The issue was the Belgium transcripts for Matt who came to the US as a Junior. Jayden will have 4 years of US high school so he won’t have that issue.

The better question for the NC2A would be why is M Hodge ineligible yet Fedor Zugic from Creighton despite his academics being even sketchier and he played professionally in Montenegro at age 15 somehow got his waiver approved and is now playing after sitting out the first 12 games?
