I once told John at a chance encounter that his step back three in the NC game was the second most exciting sports play I ever say, only behind Gibson's homer vs Oakland. And as Dodger fan, now its down a peg under Freddie's HR too...My guy Morton!!!
Jerry’s articles in carrying the water are borderline hilarious sometimes. The Wusu paragraph too - care to elaborate a bit more on the context and reason Jerry, because I’m sure you know even more about it, lol.

How I read the article, he was bringing that up to highlight the difference in the situation and create this higher moral ground for his employer. Just be an intellectually honest journalist. Is it the same thing? Of course not. But it's not apples and bowling balls either. We would have taken DAW even if we knew Pitino wanted the kid back -- and for all we know he might have, but was unable to because of the issue that has been reported here numerous times, and was public during his recruitment to Seton Hall. What's the point of digging up that dirt?
I think most every fan feels this way on some level. Who knows with the rumors, and I highly doubt they were the highest bidder, but him leaving was never going to be something that made us fans feel good, because it just highlights the crappy landscape college basketball has become. To make matters worse rumors started to swirl that he was transferring to St John’s long before the season ended.
I want all these kids to get as much money as possible and if St John’s was the highest bidder so be it. This is business. However, the manner in which this went down (i.e. committing to St. John’s before entering the portal) leaves an EXTREMELY sour taste in my mouth. Plus the comments he made in his exit interview really ticked me off.
I’m not made at Kadary for going to Saint John’s (I would have to), I’m mad for the way he handled it. Couldn’t have been done in a worse way.
Gibson's HR was one of those "you remember where you were moments". I was pretty young still, and yet I can picture with detail exactly where I was and what I was doing.I once told John at a chance encounter that his step back three in the NC game was the second most exciting sports play I ever say, only behind Gibson's homer vs Oakland. You must really believe in miracles! Padre Pio would have to be present in referee uniform to throw up the tip. 😂Hey, we're going to have a near-full house on Saturday! Awesome. Dreading the UConn game, where many season ticket holders may bail for the money.
The best revenge would be to send Pitino and Kadary out with a loss. We are due to pick one of these better teams off.
I don't; players "getting as much money as possible" has ruined college sports -- and we're only seeing the beginning of it. It's ironic that him going to St. John's is what's upsetting people -- not the system that made it possible.I think most every fan feels this way on some level. That would be worth the price of admission, with the stigmata! You must really believe in miracles! Padre Pio would have to be present in referee uniform to throw up the tip. 😂
I know most believe it is completely different, and it fits the narrative folks on here like to create about our program operating on a higher moral ground than others. But we don't know, and I'm not so sure it's altogether that different. Pitino definitely cleaned house, but I don't believe he wanted to bring in literally an entire new team, especially when you look at some of the kids they brought in via the portal. It wasn't like that roster was littered with superstars. AJ Storr and David Jones left -- those guys were legit big time high major scorers. Posh is at worst a useful high major player. DAW had 3 years of BE experience under his belt and pretty decent numbers. Everyone here concludes Slick didn't want him to stick around a year, but it's just as possible he would have kept him but couldn't. And no one here cared one bit what the reasons were, because Sha wanted him.The wusu situation was completely different in my opinion. Pitino was hired and kicked everyone off the team except Soriano.
In pitinos defense he’s 70+ years old. He couldn’t afford to do a slow rebuild. He needed his players - not holdovers.
How about both? I’m pissed that the system sucks & Im also disappointed that Richmond went to St. John’s.I don't; players "getting as much money as possible" has ruined college sports -- and we're only seeing the beginning of it. There’s no way the guys who were in the SJU program in the final days of Mike Anderson were going to be able to comply with Pitino, IMO. And if you’re Rick, which one of them was worth putting all that effort into and why? This is Free Agency man. The system goes both ways. You’re not stuck with making it work with them anymore.I know most believe it is completely different, and it fits the narrative folks on here like to create about our program operating on a higher moral ground than others. The rumors that Willards was leaving were far more obvious. To make matters worse rumors started to swirl that he was transferring to St John’s long before the season ended.

You are mistaken. It's pretty well known that Pitino did want to bring in an almost entirely new team.I know most believe it is completely different, and it fits the narrative folks on here like to create about our program operating on a higher moral ground than others. I'm extremely unhappy with what Richmond did but booing him doesnt sit right with me.Please boo him everytime he touches the ball,He screwed us this year.Doesn't need to be a rational reaction.
