Jerry on the game

My thoughts:

Really was scared to see Sha leave Richmond in for so long during the blowout in the second half. I though that was a very dangerous move considering your season depends on him being healthy and playing the rest of the way.

I have been following SHU hoops since I was in school in 1963 and this team ranks up there as one of the worst passing teams I have seen through all those years. So many unforced turnovers by head scratching bad passes. They seem to somehow make up for it with effort on the defensive end. Just sloppy, careless ball handling just about every game that is so frustrating to watch from veteran players. Way too many turnovers against Depaul.

Davis and Coleman were great last night!

Happy for Coleman. He has the physical attributes to be a great defender. Made some nice d plays last night. 2 threes! Hope they are not strangers

We now have a solid six man rotation with the emergence of Coleman. We now need EHE and Sanders to step up into solid rotation players for an 8 man rotation.

Jerry says 5-4 gets us into the NCAAT. I think that’s puts us in the last 4 in/out discussion. 6-3 is where we want to be.

19-12 seems a little too close for comfort heading into selection Sunday… especially with a loss to the bottom feeder of the little Ten
We wouldn't be 19-12. There's still the BET to be played. 12 BE wins likely means a bye to Thursday and being able to avoid another land mine game with DePaul.

I think we'd be in pretty good shape heading into the BET at 19-12/12-8 with a 4/5 game looming.

The thing is, it's all in our control.

It's been good to see Coleman step up lately. I was critical of him earlier in the season as he struggled to adjust to games with a higher level of competition.

He has regained his confidence and taken a needed step in his development.

It reminds me some of Jared Rhoden's freshman year. Granted, Jared was coming off an injury suffered in high school but he improved vastly as that year went on to the point he was a key part of the rotation by season's end.

Coleman has regained his flow. He played well these past 3 games with Richmond hobbled. He looks smooth and active out there again, like he did earlier in the season. I heard Holloway’s postgame with Popkin and he thought it was just a typical freshman up and down. He mentioned Coleman may’ve hit a bit of a wall, but is finding himself again.

Offensively, his outside shot has pretty good form, but if we can run stuff to get him moving downhill it makes a huge difference.

That Creighton game, man. That end of regulation. Woof. That was another surefire Q1 win and things get so mangled, teams so close. Damn. I hope it doesn’t haunt us as it’s so tough to blow those opportunities.
