Jerry on the game

Reading between the lines of Shaheens quotes, I think he finally realized how bad Wusu is. And I wish they could’ve asked if he got benched for those terrible passes for turnovers

Jerry is like they need help in the front court and says they they are looking for a point guard. So pretty much everything sucks haha

I still got faith, the team has a lot of talent they are just young and the older guys aren't great.

The Addae-Wusu stuff has to stop. What more do we need to see? We're talking about his entire career. Maybe Felton showed enough to play more lead guard. It's going to be a scramble. Dual is needs to get better fast.

The 4/5 spots are the least of our worries, IMO. But if I was coach, I would have one of Okorafor, Erheriene, or Yalden out there at all times. They're young players, we have 3 of them, stop going small and weaking the 4-spot with Aligbe or Toumi having to play center. It weakens too many positions.

I think you have to settle on some pairings with rotations. When Addae-Wusu out of position and Aligbe are on the floor together the offense is mess. A bit like Femi/Ndefo.

Season is done. Feltons 3 looked smooth. Why not try to give him some time. Cant look any worse. I know we have to play dyland but.the wild drives and god awful passes, middleton looks like a thin erratic deer. Toumi has talen but again.those wild drives were ridiculous. Why not.try coleman, jenkins, jahseem. Our bigs get zero touches inside except for prince who looks awful. We cant even play any inside out game. Oir footspeed.is not very.good either. Our guards got stiffled. No quick 1st steps. Maybe time to slow it down to a snails pace. This is where i question, are they not coached well or they lack BE talent

Excellent comparison. And it seems to me that Sha always wants to have an “Ndefo” on his team and he’s desperately trying to make Aligbe that guy.

But the real Ndefo was light years better than Aligbe and even he had offensive limitations but by this teams standards he’d be a go to scorer.

The three centers have totaled 33 points and 35 rebounds over 160 minutes over the first six games. That's 5.6 PPG and 5.8 RPG in nearly 27 MPG. The problem with asking them to play more is they haven't shown they're capable of carrying the load. This is an issue we knew we'd have and it's come to fruition. I agree we're weakening two positions at once but sadly that may be a better option.

I know people hate on Dylan but we need him right now. He was awful against Vandy but he was far from our biggest problem (we're probably not beating anyone if Jenkins becomes the invisible man). He too is being asked to do more than he's capable of but we need effective minutes from him most nights if we expect to win.

Dual has to step up but he's only shown that ability in small bursts. I don't know if it's the shoulder or if he's simply not that good (maybe a bit of both) but hopefully he turns the corner quickly.

Felton did well in his low leverage minutes on Friday. I'd like to see him get a real chance to run the team. Hell, it feels like we're playing 35 guys anyway.

It's always a conundrum with young players: Are we being too conservative with their development or are they really not ready to play more minutes and if not, why? IDK, I trust Sha on this long term, he's developed more players than I have. Okorafor's health also needs time but we need to get there with that trio. I mean we have 3 of them it shouldn't be a tall ask to get to 40 minutes. They'd only need to average a shade over 13 minutes each. Hope we get there and they're good enough.

The problem with DAW is he is so error prone as a player, always has been, even when he's not at point. We've had some real momentum plays in some of these games where he's been sloppy. Asking that player to have a higher usage rate and start your offense is shooting yourself in the foot. We're wasting too much time. I don't think he'll get better there either and Sha seems completely frustrated by it too.

It feels that way, yes. But it has to be played out nevertheless.
At this point, there's a chance Shaheen gets this team tuned properly in time for an upset run in the BET. Stranger things have happened.

Possibly yes, But putting all your hopes in a miracle run at the end of the season isn’t a great strategy

Has dual shown anything?

This team has so many holes. The improvements we need to make just to be middle of the pack is going to be a huge change. These guys just dont have the talent

Let's be clear, I have no hopes lol. Just stating what the last possibility is for us.

Frankly, what else is there for the team either? They could win out the rest of the way and probably still be a bubble team, based on last year's selection committee.
