One challenge Willard had here is similar to what the BE faced this year: NCAAT seeding. Very tough to advance when you’re a perennial #8-#10. We got blown out too much for my liking (Gonzaga, Wofford, TCU) and that’s on him but still the point remains. He clearly appreciated his time at SHU. i will always appreciate what he did sans the TCU disaster. Quick synopsis of his tournaments:
'16 - We got screwed in our seeding. This was Sweet 16 and/or Elite 8 team
'17 - Should have beaten Arkansas. I thought we had no chance against UNC, but Arkansas had them beat (until they didn't). UNC won title. Can you imagine this team if Whitehead came back?
'18 - If not for some bad play mid-season, we would not have been an 8 seed. This team was at least a Sweet 16 team
'19 - Disappointing finish against Wooford.
'20 - What could have been? You never know what could have happened, but this was FF team.
'21 - Close to tournament. If Aiken did not get hurt, it would have been interesting in BET.
'22 - Can you imagine if Aiken didn't get the concussion. This was Elite 8 team.
The month of January did him in (and us) every year. One challenge Willard had here is similar to what the BE faced this year: NCAAT seeding. Very tough to advance when you’re a perennial #8-#10. He was 1-5 in the NCAAT here and is already 3-1 at Maryland bc he got a good seed this year.
Where is Aiken these days?I had forgotten about Aiken. Insult to the injury they called a foul on him!

Not sure he completed a degree here. But I get your point.Horizon Kinetics portfolio analyst...and guess which of his two schools is not in his linkedin profile
What an enigma he was/is. Hopefully he’s putting his Harvard degree to good use.Where is Aiken these days?
Between Covid and Bryce's injuries those were frustrating years. But for the short time he was healthy he was really good.Aiken burnt us in both seasons. We had to rely on Shavar after Aiken went down the first year which contributed to our collapse. Fortunately we had Kadary the second.
That 2021-22 team was real good to start the year. Then got completely derailed by the COVID issue and having to start the BE season short handed before finding its way late to get to 11-8 in the BE.
