I heard a rumor one week ago but didn't believe it to be credible. Perhaps true?

Yes, JH may get fired but that all depends on how KJ decides to handle the situation. Leading candidates to replace JH are JK, HE and PH but don't count out RB as a dark horse.

EDIT OK so after reading some replies I can see now that you are referring to Julie Herman lol.

Looks pretty certain. My understanding is that she's been missing from way too many events. Plus, there is a strong thought that with her as AD, that RU will be hard pressed to find a good replacement for Flood. No decent coach in their right mind would want to work for her from what I was told.

Many in the program are all so disgusted with the thug factor. Everyone knows that it goes on across college football but the extent and are you is even worse.

I have heard similar observations. Apparently she was way over her head and only a pc hire.

Not a rumor at all. I posted something of this nature on the Trove a few weeks ago.

Many close to the situation have told me she's gone soon after the football season concludes.

JH was not the best candidate who interviewed for the job but because a very influential member of RU's Board had an agenda to hire a women to fill the position she got hired .

An article in today's NSL indicates that both Hermann & Flood are likely to be fired at the FB season's end.

Wow! I turned on the last 5 minutes of the RU/Maryland game. Stadium charitably half full and RU loses after holding a 21 point lead against an awful team that had not yet won a conference game. I actually feel sorry for the fan base.

Have a number of good RU friends who are jumping for joy and hope the news is true.

I guess there is some cleanliness to it, but why do you have to wait until the end of the football season to fire the AD? Also, what took so long? She was clearly out of her league from Day 1 just like Fogelson and Quinlan were here.

Barchi had other issues, but it was clear last year she wasn't going to last. Too many disliked her and you could see it in her actions (and inactions). She was nowhere to be seen and never engaged donors. The nonsense about her fund raising success was BS.

There are over a dozen positions she hasn't filled. She knows she is out...they are waiting for new AD to fill those roles.

Cutting her at end of year will coincide with the recruiting investigation closure. Make it nice and neat.

Soon, very soon.

Firing Pernetti was such a huge blunder. Add to that the way Hermann was hired outside of the process by someone with an agenda....comedy of errors. There are schools (SHU included) that put politics ahead of leadership when making key hires. Why you have to admire a school like Xavier even more, because they actually have a strategy and follow it.

Firing Pernetti was not the best move but I think they had no choice, given the involvement with the Rice situation, if I remember correctly.

Any word on if the Big Ten has pushed a candidate on RU?

Pernetti was a scapegoat. The RU attorney recommended keeping rice. Bernetti just went along with his recommendation. That's what counsel is for.

The big issue with JH is whether she'll go quietly or raise a stink using the gender or another issue as to why she was dismissed Stay tuned.

Yep. Christie also initially gave Pernetti his support but later left him to twist in the wind.

While politically it can't happen, a great answer for RU would be to bring pernetti back. He was good for the school in so many ways. The issue with RU that other schools don't have to deal with is the overly political climate in NJ (and therefore RU). The AD and head coach just doesn't have nearly the clout as they do in other big 10 programs. At least how I see it.

I guess I am the only person who does not care and takes offense at two threads about them on this board.

You have to wonder if the Big Ten is pushing someone what that poor soul did to piss off the Big Ten that they would be recommended for a stint in athletic hell!

RU should rehire their boy Quinlan!

I don't either 75. Just happened to see that in my Twitter feed.

We are in no position to throw stones, and I guess if I grew up in Nj I'd have some interest in what goes on at Rutgers, but they are so irrelevant I never understood why we try to cultivate some sort of rivalry with them.

Make no mistake that while RU is in the Big 10 they are NOT a Big 10 program!

the ru chair should not get another run at hiring an ad, they hired a search firm to settle on hermann. have the big ten dictate the ad search this time

What you have to remember is how many head coaching jobs are open and competition for the quality candidates will be fierce. Besides Flood today, London at UVA and Richt at Georgia are out , Cuse . MD. and Miami are still open . Just looking at those 5 schools plus RU you would have to say RU is the least attractive school. Without an AD in place difficult to see RU finding a coach quickly and seeing Greg Schiano , part 2 , would not surprise me.

We didn't, that was forced on us by the Big East. We were the only school forced to take the rip hit by having to play them twice each season. No other team was forced to do that!
