Wokeness in sports. I hope they get rid of any and every player who made an anti gay or misogynistic comments 10 years ago. And if he made these comments to Goodell, why did he allow Gruden back in the league or on MNF. Does Roger think this is acceptable behavior? If so he needs to go!

Gruden gets canned for emails with words most people have said but players that have actually brutalized women still playing lol.
Yeah, seems ridiculous based on what we know as of now. Pretty mild.
The fact that he wouldn't just say sorry and move on makes me think there may be something a little more damaging out there.

exactly. we need to start allowing people to apologize and be given a second chance. especially because all they did was use words. its a different animal. we never stop growing up.

They want to take down anyone who enabled Gruden. Didn't Gruden work for ESPN for a number of years. I would guess Gruden being Gruden happened at ESPN. I'd say they enabled him for years. Is the undefeated calling for the take down of ESPN? That would be funny.

Racist comments are wrong. Period. But I find it hysterical when ex-players or media “end” someone for this type of conduct yet the league has how many players involved in domestic violence incidents or other types of physical criminal behavior, and no one is seemingly calling for their heads. There are countless examples we can point to on that.

We spent a lot of time insulting each other's heritage. There was no hatred. It was just the way it was. We played high school sports together and when we ran out on the field we were a team. Those days are gone.
If Gruden's comments were made today, he should have been fired immediately. We all know better now. Having made them a few years, they should be forgiven.

He was referring to a specific person that is black, so yes... he implied the race.
I'm not saying he is racist himself. I doubt he is, but there are just some some things you don't say about other races. Making fun of the size of a black person's lips is one of those things.
Agree with that. I think he would have been forgiven. But that's why I would guess there has to be something else out there.

I'll tell you what, if you'd like to walk to your local bodega with your white friend, wait until a black guy walks in and make fun of his lips within an earshot of him... go for it. If you are still able to post here afterwards, I will change my opinion.

hopefully i dont get cancelled for this but to be honest, i used to always comment how large Ryan Howard's (phillies) nostrils were. i wasnt making it about race, the guy legitimately has the biggest nostrils ive seen. just an observation. vince wilfork is fat, mark davis looks like an idiot with that hair, anthony davis unibrow, sherzer has two eyes, frank ribery looks like a horse, ovechkin has a frankenstien nose, strahan has a huge gap in his teeth etc.
sure its mean and immature but its not inherently racist and. not every issue needs to be rooted in racism. if thats the case dont even comment about a black person or youll be cancelled. thats where we are at now.
