Marquette has a lot of work to do. While they have a really nice set of forwards and bigs, their guards leave a lot to be desired, I thought.

Probably about 5-8 spots back receiving votes would be my guess. Don't think Marquette and DePaul would catapult us like that.
you need to beat ranked teams to get ranked. we won't be close unless we beat the nova next week.
Generally speaking you don't get into the Top 25 until you beat a team already ranked in the top 25.

Nope and don't want to be there. Let's string some good league games together and forget the rankings for now. It was the kiss of death last year.
It was the kiss of death last year. My only concern is for us to make the NCAA tournament.
SMU this year and Cincinnati for many years would get into the top 25 without ever playing a top 25 team. But halfway through the season, I agree we have to beat some ranked teams.
We'll get votes but I'll be shocked if we get enough to be in the top 25.

The goal is playing ball BEYOND the first week of March.
We just need to win and worry about us. Rankings get people too caught up in press clippings. I'd rather lay low a few weeks longer. Let us beat Nova and a bunch of the others first. NCAA's and seedings are all that matter, not rankings.
