Kadary earning his money

Other than Sha saying he thought he could have the best backcourt in the country last year? And he said it at the beginning of the season.

When Sha correctly supported Dawes last year when those on this board were calling for Dawes to be benched and a lesser role, many here blasted Sha.
Totally agree on both points. But hey we have so many D1 coaches on this board how can anyone question them.

Yup.

I've fallen victim to simply wanting to have objective, real conversations with other Seton Hall basketball fans about Seton Hall or other college basketball teams, specifically the Big East, which most follow more than other leagues (aside from the RU obsessed).

The reality is it has become difficult if not impossible to have any rational discussion about Richmond on our boards. It's either one camp or the other, with absolutely no room for nuance or objective reality. Or to accept multiple things can be true at the same time.

You should try sparking a conversation about Willard.

Dawes was a good player that shot us out of way too many games and cost us a tournament bid last year. Dawes could do no wrong in Sha’s eyes.

Kadary carried Sha’s ass and he got publicly humiliated time after time in Sha’s nonsensical postgame pressers. Maybe Sha brought the dog out of Kadary but nobody wants to be talked about like that publicly. To defend what Sha does to his players is asinine. He’s supposed to have their backs. Especially the great ones.

Kadary. The Smooth Operator. Didn't get enough respect here when he was on our team. Then posters acted like he broke up their marriage and became their kids new daddy when he left for the money (which 99.9% of you would have done).

Glad he got his bag and is beasting on a good entertaining team.

Didn’t get the respect because he didn’t show that intensity every game. If UConn Kadary was everyday Kadary at SHU it’s a different story. UConn Kadary has emerged consistently at SJ

Some people on this board literally did not want Richmond back after his first and second years here. Lunacy!! He ended up being first team All Big East last year.

A little different over there with Luis, Ejiofor, Wilcher, Scott and especially Smith.

Smith brings the ball up a bunch and can be trusted.

In this St. John’s system Kadary is allowed to do what he needs to do and play more freely. He isn’t bound to being “the guy” there like he was here.

And he was still all Big East first team last year and the most coveted transfer in the country. Cashing in on a bidding process. Sha really was a detriment to Richmond. LOL

Unfathomable take at the time and proves truer and truer after each game. Never understood the Kadary haters. Look at what we’ve got going for us now. This board has a drinking problem.

The truth is that all players are individuals and they all respond individually to different types and styles of motivation. All successful coaches know this. Some need to be coddled; others respond to being called out. I'm not in a position to say that Sha has or has not identified all of these players correctly in how he deal with them because I don't know them.

And you don't, either.

You said successful coaches. Sha is not yet one of them. Boeheim got crushed on this board for burying Kadary on his way out of Syracuse. And he was successful. But it’s ok for unproven Sha to do it because he’s our coach? Ok.

He's not a coaching legend, but he's not entirely unproven, either. He's got a record, and before this year, it's pretty damn appealing, especially for someone far from finished growing. Not seeing the comparison to Boeheim in any way, though. Guy was there for 50 years, enough time to do brilliant things and stupid things.

Proven coaches get to do stupid things. Shaheen Holloway has not earned that right.

Who is he supposed to prove it to? You? Or someone who understands what they're looking at and recognizes the complexities of the situation he's operating in?

He's far from perfect and bears his share of the blame for this season, but this season -- which is primarily shaped by forces he does not control -- does not erase everything else on his record so far.

Also regarding people wanting Kadary out… many people put the blame of our slow, boring and bad offense on Kadary. He was a scapegoat for bad coaching and planning
