two frankly embarrassing performances at home. 3-5 at the Garden during the playoffs is mind boggling.

Barring a miracle, this will be the third year in a row they’ve been eliminated by a lower seeded team. Guess Jay Wright’s coaching only produces champions in college.

Need to move on from Thibs. There’s a reason he’s never been past the conference finals in all his years as a head coach.

Why KAT and Hart played the minutes they did yesterday without foul trouble is mind boggling. They both sat so long in the fourth quarter.

Thibs is the epicenter of this

The starting personnel is small ball and they don't have a good scheme to defend in this series so far and outside of robinson the other players that play any relevant minutes off the bench are small too...

KAT needs to be involved in early ball screen offense in 1st qtrs of games...Brunson the last long three was not needed, I would go to the basket. They have not been well on the glass in the 4th quarter this series as pacers have gotten 2nd and 3rd chances and using clock as an aid. Robinson has been a hustler but I would not be shocked if they choose to foul him on any O boards going forward rather then it leading to open 3s.

The Pacers offense just moves the ball so much better. It’s so much harder to guard since they don’t settle for 3s like the Celtics do.

Sometimes watching the Knicks is like watching Seton Hall. As much as I like Brunson, sometimes there is too much dribbling at the top of the key at the end of the game and he is forced to pass out of a double team for a tough, end of the clock shot by one of your non creators on offense.

Their only chance to get past the Pacers if they get more consistent ball movement and get easier buckets or there is another catastrophic injury or 2 by the Pacers. Indiana is so deep, that their style of play could sustain some injuries or foul trouble.

Robinson and McBride played defense, nobody else did.
I agree. As much as I Iike KAT he is a marshmallow on defense. The Knicks lack of depth has also been an issue. If they had a couple more guys who could give them 15-20 minutes they would benefit greatly.

Two games in a row Brunson has hucked up a desperation 3 when they didn’t need it. As much credit as he deserves for turning this franchise around, he needs to understand he doesn’t always need to be the hero.

How many wide open three's did Robinson give up in the 4th Q?? The announcer even said, Robinson is used to rebounding near the basket and went to help when the guard was driving and kicked it out to man Robinson left. I get he's a better defender overall than KAT, but he had some blunders late.

It is natural when tall to help defend inside the paint and be drawn to the ball he is not accustomed to staying home with a big on the perimeter

Great Indiana. They got him into those spots with their good ball movement, screens, and spacing.

Not sure I agree with the take on defense. The players are so great offensively that if a team doesn’t play D, teams would score 130 every night.

I think last night Brunson took the 3 because one more dribble and The Pacers foul him for two shots with only about 7 seconds remaining. But the shot he took had no chance.

The ny guards and wings can't defend 1 on 1
The announcers said during the third quarter that the Pacers were hunting KAT and Brunson on defense. KAT is too slow defending on the perimeter and Brunson is too small. The reality is that the Pacer’s perimeter offense is too much for the Knicks to handle.

First game choke by Knicks pretty much decided the series.Knicks don’t have defense to stop Pacers shooting particularly from 3.Knicks and Jets two major market teams that haven’t won a title in 50 plus years both are a disgrace.

I get that but you have a better chance of making free throws and trying to get a turnover on the inbounds than hitting a pull up 3 from that deep.

Also had a TO left. Hindsight is 20/20 but bad move by thibs not to get them organized.

yup. how many times is the guy all over vrunson as he hits a tough runner.

but the knicks have won 2 nba titles, the last one when i was a soph at shu (so prof ed could bust my balls on the way to school lol), so...

If the Knicks get swept, could Thibs be in trouble? I imagine the first call would be to Danny Hurley. Old friend @CL82 must be fretting this scenario.

Meh, if we lose him to the NBA after two national championships, it's tough to complain too much. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if he left for the Knicks job.

Jay Wright on his staff?
I see Jay more in a "Consultant Emeritus" type of role, not full time NBA travel as an assistant coach. He might have to give up the cushy tv gig though and I'm not sure he'll do that, but for his guys he might. If the Knicks get swept, I would not be surprised if Thibs got the boot for the Knicks to throw the kitchen sink at Hurley. Carlisle is coaching circles around Thibs in this series so far, at least as much as NBA yes men are allowed to "coach" anymore.

Totally agree. He tries to be the hero too much.
