Above all, thoughts and prayers for the dead, wounded, and traumatized.

That being said, it did not take long for the disgusting comments to start flowing.

'CBS fires vice president who said Vegas victims didn't deserve sympathy because country music fans 'often are Republican'

As of yet, no coverage of this by CNN, ABC, NBC, or CBS.

Wow just wow! She is obviously drinking the cool aid. I can tell you that I am a country music fan and so are many of my friends and my kids. Some are Dems, some are Repubs and some are independent. Just another way to label people that is incorrect from the people that like to cry the blues about injustice but are committing an injustice by labeling.

Every event now gets politicized. Every one. No one is classy anymore at all - very sad environment we live in.

God bless the people that attended that concert. They just wanted to go out and have some fun. They did not deserve the tragedy that occurred and deserve our prayers not our criticism. I am glad CBS fired her. ESPN could learn a thing or two from CBS.

Thank God we have Fox News and the mainstream media to report these sorts of things. Presumably at least some of the other outlets mentioned will pick up on this story.

This story line dovetails with the NFL protests story. This attorney has the right to go on Facebook and post what she did. She does not have a Constitutional right to keep her job and CBS seems to have moved pretty quickly to dismiss her.

Overall, today's massacre is yet another in a string of terrible national tragedies. It's hard to take.

Good for CBS doing the right thing there.

It is so ridiculous how everything gets politicized these days. That's such a wrong stereotype too. I once knew someone, a 20-something, who was as liberal as it gets and absolutely loved country music. It does not matter what their political beliefs are. 58 innocent people were senselessly murdered (and hundreds hurt) by a madman for absolutely no reason. I don't care what they believe or who they vote for. They are innocent human beings.

I would feel the same way about this woman if she was involved in a tragedy like this.

All I’m going to say on this topic is there is a real lack of God in the world today. People can do these actions? People can say these words? It’s very sad. God Bless all people affected in any way.

Any more questions?
You just as well could have replaced your first paragraph with [lip service to not appear insensitive and consumed by playing partisan gotcha, now here's the real reason I created this thread]. Because it's obvious what you wanted to talk about.

CBS says it shitcanned a non-news employee shortly after she posted awful, dumb things following a horrible tragedy. A horrible tragedy that had happened late the night before, let's say fewer than twelve hours prior, the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, for which the dead were still being counted, the apparent sole perpetrator is dead with no hint of motive, raids are being conducted, and a major US city is awash in fear and mourning. And you're calling out news outlets for not also near-immediately dispatching reporters to investigate someone getting fired for writing insensitive stuff on Facebook. 24 hours later, there are now dozens of other stories on the subject. I feel like it's be sufficiently covered. Do you?

I think the original poster was pointing out the obvious media bias we all know exists on both sides. A true down the middle network could probably make a fortune. Ask yourself how much coverage would be on someone who said I don’t care about 9/11 because those are mainly democrats?

The sad part is this person was only fired. In times like these we always asked did the person firing the weapon have mental issues. To post comments like this, the person in question might be mentally unstable. There’s something wrong when you are good with innocent people dying because of their party affiliation. Maybe this is the type of behavior that needs to be looked at more and more. The more hatred that is spewed for the public to consume the worst things are. The fact everyone can’t come together after a national tragedy is sad.

You are reading way to much into it and picking fights that are not needed.

As I said, first and foremost, thoughts and prayers.

The follow up comments about the twit from CBS and the rest of the MSM were posted out of sheer disgust that was commensurate with her sick comments and egregiously poor timing.
