GENEVA, Oh. – Thanks to many wins, podium finishes and strong dives over the entire week, the Seton Hall men's swimming and diving team secured a second place finish on the final night of the 2025 BIG EAST Championships at Spire Academy.

Swimming
The final night opened with the 1650 freestyle, a massive swing event for the Pirates. With reigning BIG EAST Champion Sean Vizzard, as well as Clil Halev, the Pirates had two chances to collect a large sum of points. After the field settled into the race, Vizzard began to pull out in front and exert his championship pedigree. By the end of the race, Vizzard secured himself a healthy nine-second victory with a time of 15:09.74. Halevi, meanwhile came in fourth with a time of 15:30.03.

In the aftermath of the 1650 free, the 200 backstroke was next on the docket. After being outtouched in the 100 back, Balint Marosi wanted revenge in the 200 backstroke. While Marosi controlled the race throughout, Kaedin Duong challenged for the victory early on. While Duong got passed in the end, Marosi cruised to victory. His time of 1:46.21 was nearly two seconds clear of the second-place swimmer.

Another chance for victory presented itself to the Pirates in the form of Michael Klimaszewski in the 200 butterfly. The junior won the event in his freshman year, but came up just short against Xavier's Aiden Leamer last season. The two entered the event as the favorites and stepped onto the blocks next to each other. The two battled tight for the first 150 yards, with Klimaszewski maintaining the advantage through most of it. In the final 50 yards, however, Leamer began to pull ahead. At that point in the race, there was nothing that The Hall could do. Despite collecting a second-place finish, Klimaszewski broke the school record with the time of 1:45.06.

To cap off a stellar meet for The Hall, Toma Adam, Marosi, Kevin Cary and Klimaszewski prepared to attack the 400 freestyle relay. The Pirates broke the school record in that event earlier in the season. Despite being the top seed by a hefty margin, the Xavier gave the Pirates all they could handle. In the end, with the race on the line, Klimaszewski pulled out a dominant 43.29 anchor leg to secure victory and a new school record for the Pirates with a 1:56.10

After the final day of competition, the Pirates secured second place with 709 points overall.
  1. Georgetown – 836 points
  2. Seton Hall – 709
  3. Xavier – 688
  4. Villanova – 588
  5. Providence – 261
