I was unaware that there was a statute of limitations on pedophilia.

In most states can't be sure of all states, all sex crimes had a statute of limitations. Because children would not report the abuse until after they turned to be an adult, many states expanded the statute of limitations to 5 years after the victims turned 18. Then other states expanded it even further for sexual assault and removed the statute of limitations.

But 40 years ago, most if not all states had a 5 year statute of limitations for sex crimes.

Read the Washington Post story. The details of it cannot be made up.
Look, i'm the last guy that's going to defend Moore, but aren't you the least bit curious why all this broke in October?

you know exactly why it broke in October, just like why every other woman started speaking out in October, but you pretend to be blissfully ignorant of it so you can continue to be a partisan conspiracy theorist, which also in this case makes you a creep. Good job!

They spoke out now because the movement of people speaking out is now.
The second person (and third, forth...etc) usually speaks up because they heard the account of the first person and had a similar experience and want to share their story as well.

The guy wasn't allowed to walk around freely in a mall because of his predatory behavior on young girls... That was something the town knew about him.

I think he should step aside. I said before the mall thing is the most disturbing thing which there is evidence. There is politics involved and we have to honest about that whether it's Moore, Franken or Conyers. Both sides are guilty and either side trying to take a moral high ground is BS.

Indeed. I am pissed about all of the democrats calling for Franken to resign just so they can appear to be the anti-Moore / anti-Trump party.

It is an entirely political move and is a mistake in the long term.

The story broke when it did, November by the way, because the Republican Primary was held in the last week of September and since Moore unexpectedly won the nomination, the media only then started looking into his background.

By the way, I want you to know that I never thought you were defending Moore.

So you don't think Franken should have resigned? Why not? Partisanship?

I say good riddance to bad rubbish, he should be joined by many others, another bipartisan effort.

Not partisan. I think Conyers should have resigned. I don't think Franken should have resigned for a few reasons.

1. This is entirely a political stunt. This is an attempt by democrats to play the moral high ground. They are trying to force republicans to all call on Moore to step down now and if he wins they are going to campaign against the entire party for 2018 for not holding Moore to the same standard they held Franken to.
2. The Tweeden allegation is the worst of them but for reasons I posted earlier I think that was a setup and not true. The rest of allegations are allegations so far and less evidence of actual wrong doing than we had with the current potus.
3. Are we setting up a precedent that all allegations are true and we should have no type of due process?

LOL, partisanship at its finest.

Believe one, believe all, that applies to Franken, Moore, Conyers, Clinton, Rose, Lauer, Weinstein, etc.

Like I said, I think that is a dangerous precedent to set especially in politics. Otherwise, know which people running for senate next year will have sexual misconduct allegations against them? All of them.

Moore was predatory towards young underage girls. Many people in his town are on record acknowledging that now.
That is entirely different than Franken's situation.

Project Veritas was caught trying to get the Washington Post to print a fake Roy Moore accusation story a couple weeks ago, so they could then discredit them as being fake news.
We need some type of due process and critical thinking before we just say everyone is guilty.

Sad but they are all the same situations.

Don't agree, but like I said. This is setting up a bad precedent.

Rumor on twitter that CNN and Washington Post are investigating 20-30 current congressional members for harassment. If all it takes is an accusations, 2018 is going to get very ugly.

Letting Clinton get away with he did set a bad precedent.

Trent Franks (AZ-R) now stepping down. Looks like the wave is starting.

That doesn't make any sense. Clinton was investigated and stood trial related to his sexual misconduct.

All I am saying is that an allegation does not equal guilt, and if we start trying to hold all people accountable to allegations against them - There are about to be hundreds of new allegations as we head into an election year.
