Apparently OSU has already offered the job to McDermott. If that’s true and he hasn’t jumped yet, probably he’s staying at CU with a new contract. Hope he stays.

Hopefully he’s strongly considering it and his team plays like that tonight.

While I partially agree and I'm sure it's not the sort of question he gets asked on a regular basis, it is interesting how similar it is to this Cooley quote shortly before taking the Georgetown job.

Mac and Cooley have always been close. I don't think this is a coincidence at all, he's taking a page out of his book when it comes to the job speculation.

In his time in the Big East he has seen Cooley, Willard, and Holtmann all take a chance and move on to "bigger and better" from comfortable situations, plus Jay Wright retire out of the blue at the same age he is now. Might be thinking it's his turn now and he can cash in before retirement. If it works out at his new role, great. If it doesn't, he can move on from coaching and enjoy retirement where Omaha will always be home.

It's been mostly a mixed bag on coaches that have left the Big East for supposedly greener pastures.

Buzz Williams has had limited success at Va Tech and Texas A & M
Mack and Holtmann were both fired.

I have not been following the McDermott thing closely, but a quick search at lunchtime says to me he isnt leaving and OSU guys know it.
