Somers, Wis. – The Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team is ranked 29th in the Collegeswimming.com Top-50 Mid-Major Final Standings of the 2016-17 season.

The Pirates capped a stellar year with their first-ever BIG EAST Championship following a spirited four-day marathon at Nassau Aquatic Center on Long Island. Junior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.) was named BIG EAST Most Outstanding Swimmer for the second consecutive season after finishing with the most individual points at the championships.

As a team, The Hall broke eight school records during the championship run alone. Yanchulis broke the 100 and 200-yard freestyle records and was also a part of the record-setting 200, 400 and 800 free relay squads.

Sophomore Lior Grubert (Yehud-Monosson, Israel) and junior Vadim Jacobson (Arnold, Md.) finished two-three in the overall individual point standings and won a combined four BIG EAST titles.

I'd love to know what the hell sponsoring a football team has to do with sponsoring a swimming team. Oh that's right, not a damn thing!

Don't tell certain posters here that SHU swimming is a mid-major! They'll take great offense!

This team performed well. Funny thing about swimming is there are probably 10 D-3 schools that are much better programs than most on this list.
