Menendez, like Eric Adams, begins the process of shameless groveling to Trump for clemency.
Do you think the Justice Department would have gone after Adams if he hadn’t been critical of Biden’s handling of the border and impact on NYC?
Adam’s started going after Biden and the White House after the investigation started, so yes?
Most politicians both sides have ghosts in their closets. They all toe the line, not because they want to but because they have to. When they are clean there party makes something up to hold over their head. Menendez cross the line and they made an example of him. He’s guilty but most of these politicians are guilty of something. I’m afraid Trump is trying to model his administration after the democratic control of DOJ and FBI.
The investigation would have gone away if he simply listened to his mob boss and fell in line with the party messaging. They held up the axe and he choose to put his head under it. In the old days we would call that integrity now we call it misinformation.
I don't really see the administration saying, lets send the DOJ after this guy in case he gets out of line months from now though.
If they were of the "mob boss" threatening type, wouldn't they threaten the investigation in case they get out of line first, and then open the investigation if they did?
Maybe he started being vocal against the administration because of their investigation into him?
Just not really leaving open the possibility that they started the investigation because the evidence was damning and could not be ignored.
Was specifically speaking of Adams there, but Menendez wasn't better any better.
Both are corrupt and got more brazen as time went by and they kept getting away with it.
Menendez has been corrupt since he got into office. Unfortunately for him, he was literally caught with the goods this last time. And also unfortunately for him he burned just about every bridge, even with his allies.
Joe Biden has a long history of weaponizing the government to hurt folks he didn't like. Just ask Jill's first husband, one of Joe's good friends back in Delaware before he decided he wanted his wife. The guy was attacked on many fronts his business by the IRS etc.. until he was beaten like a dog. Grandpa Joe is not a saint, he pardoned people he knew were guilty before they were charged. Both guys we are talking about disagreed with his policies, he had to make an example of them like any good mob boss. I'm surprised he didn't go after Nancy at the end. She's been very quiet as of late.
