For those espousing that SHU is ducking Rutgers I'll note this.

Penn State reached out to SHU in December after negotiating with our school as long as a year or so ago to play a H/H. The only date they could offer this year was Dec 6, the same date that RU wanted to play us. We accepted as Willard wanted to construct as difficult a schedule as possible.

Unknown to many is that we reached out to 2 other schools in the recent AP top 10 to play them H/H. Unfortunately they decided late they could not play us leaving Seton Hall looking for 2 more games. Those games soon became the Louisville 'tournament'.

Rhode Island and Wager were already games agreed upon so Seton Hall hit the quota that the Big East suggested, 5 OOC games in Nov/Dec. That is why Willard is looking to play Rutgers in Jan or Feb.

Rutgers got left in the cold and I can understand why Pikiell is upset.

If SHU did anything wrong I would suggest that they got back to RU a little late and maybe better communications might have resolved the issues both schools are now facing with the game.
