The reason that I said this is a must read is two fold.
One, the media close to the program are seeing first hand how this season is affecting Sha. If this keeps up it's going to affect his health. I hope those upset with the 3rd year coach take that into consideration when posting here.
Second, Willard feels the same way. He knows from personal experience how losing can weigh on a man and it was never as bad for him as it is now with the changing landscape of college BB. Because of that he feels for Sha and calls often to encourage him.
We don't need let's fire Sha threads here. It's not going to happen and it only makes a bad situation worse. Hitting rock bottom in the long run might be the best thing to happen to the program. Next season the school is going to have a MAJOR infusion of NIL money and Sha will begin (to a degree) to play on an even field. It's not going to happen overnight, but no one cares about Seton Hall as much as Holloway and I firmly believe with patience we'll eventually get the result we want.

Sha also needs to use what’s going on as a learning experience. The approach this year has been a mess. There are a few things he needs to adjust to in this day and age, IMO, excluding the very clear money issue.

There is going to be a major infusion of NIL money into the program that Sha has never had before. The number is probably higher than most believe. It will not totally even the playing field with the upper tier national teams, but it at least it gives Sha a chance to build a quality roster.
Come on, Dan. Sha makes $2.5MM. If he can’t handle criticism from some jokers on a message board then how’s he supposed to handle being a Big East head coach?
What makes you think it's just that? The losing is killing him. We in the media see him in the post game after every contest. He looks like he just lost his dog. Money has no bearing on how hard he is taking these losses. The man needs a little understanding and calling for his head is not that.

I agree with Piratz on this. It's a learning process and a wake up call for everyone. Any reasonable Hall fan can see it. Sometimes we may see a thread here or there talking about replacing the coach. The truth is there is a very small minority of fans or posters that feel that way. If or when Sha gets this turned around it would be unfair to say The Hall fans wanted him out. Hopefully, with an influx of funds coupled with the New Practice Facility the future will be brighter.

No doubt that this season has affected Shaheen. We know he has an incredible drive to win and will put the time in.
Two things can be true though. He clearly needs support from administration and financially to field a competitive roster. Hopefully this is a wake up call to Hank, the BOR and Administration. $1.5 million is failure in my book, a it’s pretty evident just from what we’ve seen from jcalz’ frustration and the hoops that Mike Walsh had to jump through. The BOR needs to address the financial responsibility or get out of the way.
My sense is that a lot of the stress She is dealing with his self-self inflicted. Time to look in the mirror and do some self reflection. Does he have a trusted group of mentors that he can talk to and truly listen to what they have to say? Is his staff holding him back? I don’t think anyone questions his work ethic, but don’t confuse effort with results? He will be measured on results. The way he is running the team, interacting with supporters, and even the media is troubling. If this message board is shaping some of his views, that’s even worse. He’s being paid a lot and he’s a grown man. He should know better to ignore the noise that comes with the territory.

That’s got to be at least a $4 million number to be considered average.
1. Idk how the management of the team goes on the inside with the coaching staff. I don’t think they forgot how to do this, but 13-7 to 1-11 is shocking. We’ve seen a lack of personnel consistency, constant frustration, and questionable effort. The team he choose looks like garbage for months. Something is not connecting and went wrong. What?
How did we go from Bediako, Davis types to this? Just money? Why did we try to build depth on a low budget?
2. Sha’s media awareness is terrible. He needs to grow immediately in this area. He can’t isolate the team and his attitude is so childish so often that it’s cringey. This is a problem. The program can’t attract flies right now.

Doesnt mean a thing if we dont utilize it correctly !
the losing is because of money. the losing by 25 every night because of sha. whether roster construction or coaching. or both.

Willard is a politician who left SHU at the right time.He has a $10M sugar daddy in Kevin Plank an alum and founder of Under Armor.He is doing a good job at rebuilding the Maryland program.
Willard knows how to play the game. Something Sha should have known how to do before he took this job. Something he needs to learn how to do immediately.
Hope you’re right. Sha was supposed to be more polished because he went to an Elite Eight. So we were told.

Apple to oranges. You have no way of knowing. Willard is currently reviving a broken Maryland program but he only gets credit because there’s money there for him? Give me a break. Tired of the excuses. Willard did what it took. Sha is doing the opposite. Time for him to grow up and get it done. Starting NOW.
Sha's seat is not even warm, nor should it be, but "big dog" needs to make major changes this offseason. A nice start would be to stop being a d-bag to everyone he comes across and hire someone who can install an offense because he's incapable.

The big east basketball league is not acc or sec...where there is much more media and scrutiny for underachieving...
SHU hoops minus carino and zagoria are next best covered by jaden daly...this screams soft and weak...not having a full strength rotation has been the cause of the margin of loss in conference games...but the makeup of this roster was poorly designed...who ultimately decided nil for the product of players?

So if I'm the NIL gets to 4-5 mil is the program still gonna go with the ludicrous idea of rotating 10-11 avg player? Basketball can't be played that way, have to use money on 6-7 solid players and take your chances with the 4 min backup.
