Must read from Jerry C

I agree with those who have expressed the sentiment that Harmon, if healthy and fully ready to go, was not going to make a huge impact on this team. If I recall correctly, he was ready to commit to Seton Hall early and we even held him at bay for a period of time to see if we could find someone better. He had a nice season at Bethune Cookman last year but the Big East was always going to be big jump.
Yup -- that was posted here. We had him in the fold or were looking at numerous other options, including as to whether (a) we would even take the kid and (b) if we did, it was as a backup.

Tired of sucking? You've been around for 5 minutes. You continually discredit a very good season last year, where the program was robbed of a bid by the committee, and now this. Where were you for most of the 2000s? You are a clown, and not someone that the program should worry about satisfying, for these reasons and more.
Are you satisfied with sitting out the last three tournaments? We missed the tournament last year because we weren’t good enough. I got over the “snub” angle. You should too. You get so angry when I criticize Sha (the guy who said he wouldn’t mess this up) that I almost forgot he gets paid a lot of money to win. Or in this case…lose. We’re losing and we’re worse than ever. We’re doormats. We’re a national embarrassment. Get over yourself.

You bring up history like it’s pertinent to right now. I heard we played for a national title eons ago so it’s ok to never compete for one ever again. You’re a funny guy!

You're a one-note Johnny Come Lately who takes up way too much space on this board and adds nothing except screaming incessantly about the coach. Try a different note and maybe you'll be taken seriously.

I know Sha bleeds blue. He bears some responsibility, but I still genuinely feel bad for him. Losing sucks. Not being even competitive is the worst

It's not what you think. Think TT type of issue.
I know very little about TT, but I heard he was a good young man, who just marched to the beat of his own drum. Not a bad dude by any stretch of the imagination, just wasn’t good with structure. Is that a medical issue?

The only other SHU man we hired as coach was Richie R and he too had circumstances ruin his stint as our coach. Hope we figure this one out a little quicker.

You really need to get some perspective, the kind that comes with a little seasoning. This season is a superfund site -- that's plain to see -- but it's also one season. Cut the new tags off your Seton Hall gear, settle in for a while, maybe pay attention to the rhythms of all of college basketball, and you'll see it better for what it is. You sound ridiculous.

Excellent post! It's not all on Sha. We had a piss poor NIL budget that's haunting us this year. Sha made some mistakes in how he applied the budget and that's on him. The fundamental problem, however, is that SHU got caught short with its NIL budget this year. I understand that SHU will not repeat the same mistake and that help is on its way for next season.

Yes, it was a very extreme mental health issue. Both he and Harmon are having difficult times living life as we all should. I am surprised that so many here do not understand those kind of issues.
I'm not sending my child with "a very extreme mental health issue" 750 miles away for school unless that school is really noted for helping students with mental health issues. To me that's pretty wild.

The reason that I said this is a must read is two fold.

One, the media close to the program are seeing first hand how this season is affecting Sha. If this keeps up it's going to affect his health. I hope those upset with the 3rd year coach take that into consideration when posting here.

Second, Willard feels the same way. He knows from personal experience how losing can weigh on a man and it was never as bad for him as it is now with the changing landscape of college BB. Because of that he feels for Sha and calls often to encourage him.

We don't need let's fire Sha threads here. It's not going to happen and it only makes a bad situation worse. Hitting rock bottom in the long run might be the best thing to happen to the program. Next season the school is going to have a MAJOR infusion of NIL money and Sha will begin (to a degree) to play on an even field. It's not going to happen overnight, but no one cares about Seton Hall as much as Holloway and I firmly believe with patience we'll eventually get the result we want.
The fire shaheen talk is so stupid. Programs like us take a while to get going. Willard was bad thru 5 years. The comparison to willard and shaheen has been that willard took over a terrible program. We werrnt that terrible under gonzo in terms of having talent. We had some very good BE talent under gonzo and orr. Gonzo and orr were competing in a massive big east and we got lost in the expansive. Keep in mind, willard was starting to go into the smaller conference and major programs left leaving it easier to finish at the top half of the BE. Shaheen is facing and uphill climb by being hired into the NIL era and investing in a practice facility. I have no doubt hell get us going again. Jerry made a great point about speading NIL over 10 players. Thats something shahee. May have to address. He likes positionless basketball and running 10 guys but our budget wont allow it. Last year yes the guys were gassed running 35 mpg or more. May have to go that route till we figure it out and have more funds for solid backups.

Dude what? There is no excuse for this. But for the sake of not spinning in circles, I’ll drop it. No point in arguing anymore. Looking forward to the revival next year.

The issue will still be spending money wisely. It's not like Seton Hall has this influx of cash coming that no one else has. We will have more but we will be behind our competitors like we've been for the last few decades. Willard, Orr, Gonzo always had less than the UConns, Marquettes, and Villanovas of the big east. It's part of the gig here until some whale comes in with major money.
