Only 2 centers left projected in first round.. ROMARO GILL has good chance
getting drafted. Toronto Utah and San Antonio looking seriously at him

Williams is a surprise pick at #4 but just highlights the fact NBA teams want size and skill more than production. I assume Cavs go Toppin here

Wiseman pick to GS similar vibe to what happened with San Antonio and Tim Duncan. Anthony Edwards was absolutely trying to fall right before the draft with his interview.

Another center gone How will Knicks screw this up?
They want Obi Toppin who has been working out with our own Myles Powell.

Your word to God’s ears... how cool would it be to have the roommates picked on the same day in the draft!

Thank GOD the ball boy was taken third so he was off the table for The Bulls!! My faith and interest had gone from zero to being partially restored with the hiring of Arturas and Billy Donovan. All of that would have plummeted below zero if the ball boy was available and they took him. Can't say how pleased I am that cancerous family will be nowhere near the rebuilding franchise. So relieved. So grateful. Happy with this pick. Faith and interest are rising.

Now I can focus on Myles!

NETS up potential trade to Houston??

oh, trade to Detroit Saddiq Bey

prichard and udoka going higher than predicted. dont know if that helps or hurts.

MYLES POWELL #4 ON BILAS TOP BOARD. about 9 picks left. come on!! take a chance on him!!

Myles creeping up their "Best Available" list. Looks like it's gonna go down to the wire.
the list is sort of useless at this point. gotta hope the next two go for the BE POY. worked out with isaiah thomas at 60

Damn... well... it’s better to not be drafted than to be drafted in the 2nd round.... right?.... right?

There's really no difference from being a 2nd rounder and going undrafted. You are essentially still trying out for the team the team just owns your rights if your drafted.

Being udfa is better, your agent can now seek a fair training camp shake, very few of these 2nd round picks will be playing nba minutes this season

Pretty disappointing. I'm sad for Myles, must have been heartbreaking not to hear his name called, but I believe he will get his chance and make the most of it. Aside from that, what sucks is Seton Hall not getting the name recognition during the draft. It can only help recruiting, and this feels like a big missed opportunity. Thoroughly unsatisfying evening for Powell and Seton Hall.

It sucks for Powell. I know he'll get his shot, and likely multiple shots, but being able to hear your name on draft night announced to the world must an amazing and irreplaceable feeling. I think he can take some solace in that I don't believe he was getting picked last year if he came out. It was by all accounts a stronger draft. So he gets his degree, has a fun senior year with all the accolades (despite it being cut short), and has the "graduation" moment which if you read the Serby article was so important to him and his family.

My thoughts when his name wasn't called were solely with Powell. Now that someone raised it, yes it does suck on some degree for our program in that most of us thought this was a kid Willard could point to on getting drafted to the league, which is so important for recruiting purposes. But how Powell matured and developed sells itself, and no doubt it helped us land a good class this year, so not all is lost on that front. Like I said I really don't care much about that right now because I wish Powell would have heard his name called.

MP is current #1 search term trending in US?!

What? Sam Merrill over Myles Powell?!? Kid looks like the cashier that checked me out at Trader Joe’s the other day.

If that kid was 6 foot 5 and shot 47% from the floor and 42% from three-point range for his college career.

If he had the same resume but was 6'4" he'd be a top 10 pick. He measures a hair under 6'. Will he be able to play in the league? I believe he will. Teams just aren't going to spend a pick on him.

What, for pointing out the fact that his stats came from an incredibly weaker conference with a much weaker schedule, or that he’s not the caliber player Myles Powell is? I’d say it was accurate. Do you think he earned being picked over Myles?🤔

Myles deserved to get his name called last night. I’m ticked off he didn’t. Wound up in a better place after all. God works in mysterious ways. ✨He can prove all the nonbelievers wrong and do it in the World’s Most Famous Arena!💪🏀👊

What's deserving in life? Not much really.

Main things pritchard/Merrill both are bigger guards than Myles...Flynn is a true 1 with better handle and ball control skills...

You put powell, merrill, pritchard in a 3 pt contest and have them go do the event 10 times they probably all win 3 times a piece....for Powell to play meaningful NBA minutes he cant be a defensive liability, will need to guard in PnRs better and has to be able to shoot proficiently from 23 feet to 15 feet

If this was nba 25 years ago yes he is drafted 2nd round, now its about pick swaps, packaging picks as assets for other needs, stashing young cats in europe and holding their rights etc

Agreed that his size cut against him. So did other things though, because a number of players around his size were picked. If you have PG skills at that height, or show playmaking potential even if not a true PG that translates, you'll have a good chance of being drafted with his other skill-set. I think if he had a better shooting season this past year it may have changed things; I think him not being the "elite" shooter he was his junior year frankly hurt his stock a bit, and the more scouts have a chance to watch you, it can hurt as much as it can help. He can stick if he gets that back on some level.

What I’m hoping is that with the months off right after Covid started, his body was able to heal. Lets face it, the concussion, the number of naggung injuries he as dealing with, being everyones focus defensively all had an impact. He is probably going into Knicks camp feeling the best physically than he has in a long time.

basically this is saying he played himself out of being drafted... which i dont disagree with. if thats the case, does he truly deserve it or is this board just biased?

I’m not going that far, because last year was a better draft class. So I think he probably goes undrafted in 2019 (not sure if you were making that point). If your view is this season probably hurt more than helped, I think there may be some merit to that because of the shooting woes and inconsistency. I think the concussion played a big role in that, among other factors. The accolades he received this year were great but I don’t think the NBA cares about that all that much. I think they look at performance and projections. And if the performance isn’t as good, and you don’t project with size, athleticism or things like that, it can hurt one’s status. The more scouts look and dissect a kid’s game can hurt as much as help.

Well somebody who works incredibly hard, who has overcome major challenges, who has gained great achievement on the highest level of competition, and someone who does it all while being humble and kind. Don't know about you but in my book that's deserving. 🙏

Tell you what, you can take Merrill and I'll take Big East player of the year and Jerry West National Shooting Guard of the Year Myles Powell on my team every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Well the past season him being hurt and being the focus being doubled every possession hurt too. That won't happen at the nba level so his shooting should improve.
