NBA Draft Live Picks thread

Well somebody who works incredibly hard, who has overcome major challenges, who has gained great achievement on the highest level of competition, and someone who does it all while being humble and kind. Don't know about you but in my book that's deserving. 🙏

Tell you what, you can take Merrill and I'll take Big East player of the year and Jerry West National Shooting Guard of the Year Myles Powell on my team every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
you just gave the description of everyone who entered the nba draft.

So silly it's almost not worth commenting on. Guess you're right, Big East Player of the Year, Jerry West Award winner, and 1st team All American Myles Powell isn't special...didn't overcome major hurdles in life, and doesn't have unique leadership, heart and humility about him...he's pretty much just like everyone entering the draft. Okay.

By the way speaking of humility, did you catch LaMelo's draft party? Is there a more unassuming humble family in all of sports? 😂😂😂

myles tweetd "smd" right after the draft, btw.

working hard is nothing special, if ur in the nba draft you have accolades, everybody overcame setbacks. ill take powell every day but other programs operate with special players too

If that kid was 6 foot 5 and shot 47% from the floor and 42% from three-point range for his college career.

Those stats in the incredibly rugged Mountain West and their brutally tough out of conference schedule are truly impressive. He’s NO freaking Myles Powell! ... not even close!

I'm guessing you've never seen Sam Merrill play. I have. The kid can play. Is he better than Myles? Debatable but you don't have to denigrate the kid to make your point. The world is littered with great college basketball players that never did a thing at the NBA level. Many of them high draft picks. Many more who simply didn't fit the league's mold.

28 players shot 40% from three-point range in D-I last year. Merrill shot 42% for his career. If it were that easy everyone would do it.

The biggest difference between the two? Five inches in height. 6 foot 5 as opposed to 6 foot at the two guard. The guys who get paid to project NBA talent made their choice and went with the guy whose size projects better at his position.
