Seton Hall has been selected as the No. 12 seed in the Yale Region of the NCAA Tournament.

This will be the fifth time in program history that Seton Hall has a team competing at the NCAA Regionals. Its last team tied for 19th in Williamsburg, Va. in 2001. Former Pirate great Lloyd Jefferson Go competed as an individual during the Regionals in both 2016 and 2017.

No Seton Hall golfer has ever advanced to the National Championship.

Not really sure but it looks like the top five schools from each regional advance if I read it right. Also the top individual golfer in each region not from one of those five schools will also advance.

SHUSA - I think this article gives a nice summary
As you may appreciate the region is loaded -UNC ;Wake Forest … - If the Hall can get to top 5 it would be epic

the individual part i dont get. sounds like there is a team and invidual competition. but any individual on the participating teams can move on even if their team doesnt. and there are additional individuals that play solo from teams that didnt make it

Being a CT guy, I've played Yale several times. A great track that went to seed during the COVID 2020 year. They've brought it back and are going to do a complete renovation to bring it back to the original bones. Some great and memorable holes - especially nine (three tiered green) and 18 (which I would bring the TNT to blow it up). Shame that Yale doesn't use their billions in endowment and build a new clubhouse facility. I urge any golfers on either board to play it once. It's worth the price tag.

I was at Fiddler's Elbow on Tuesday doing a Nine and Dine event - while in the locker room - on the big TV screen showed Seton Hall listed on Golf Channel's points of interest - SETON HALL - Automatic Entry - Big East Champion - on the top of the listing.

Seton Hall is in the Yale bracket and ranked 12 out of the 14 teams competing for 5 spots (stroke play with 5 team members participating). North Carolina is the top seed but there no powerhouse golf schools in this region.

If they finish top 5 (tough ask) in this stroke play region, they move on to GreyHawk Golf Club (I've played) along with the 5 other regional top 5 teams (along with individual winners that teams did not qualify).

The 30 teams then play a stroke play event for a few days that takes the top 8 qualifying teams and the format then switches to a match play event played 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 and so on. The event is covered extensively by Golf Channel and is very exciting. The women play the week prior with the same format culminating at GreyHawk GC.

Just for informational purposes, Seton Hall is currently ranked #90 out of 290. The Seton Hall women's team is ranked #136 out of 265 teams
