I also stand with those players and their right to choose. I have recently decided to take the vaccine after consulting with my doctor. He convinced me it is safe and said it would be a good idea if I took it, so I took him at his word. He agreed with me that I am not at great risk, but said why tempt fate and risk that I'm one of the exceptions who has a bad outcome. My concerns with the vaccine stemmed from how new it was, whether or not it caused severe adverse effects and any potential long term impacts. My doctor told me he wouldn't have recommended it to his wife and daughter if he didn't feel it was safe and he took it himself, so that was good enough for me.

I support the right of each individual to make the decision they feel best for themselves. They may not feel the same way and that's fine. The government and employers have overstepped their bounds. They have no business telling you what you must put into your body.

Shouldn’t the same apply the other way? If you are Pro-Choice on abortion (my body my choice); shouldn’t the same apply to a vaccine mandate?

Choosing not to get vaccinated doesn't result in the death of an unborn child.

While you're on your soapbox why don't you take the time to talk to an OB doctor and ask them how often a pregnancy poses a life or death health risk to the mother.

I hope you are okay with expanding those safety net programs for more kids and families bc that is what you will need with all the “moms” who don’t want or can’t afford kids.

Like me, I’m sure you also complain about moms who don’t have enough means to take care of all the kids they have. You think that will get better or worse?

Also what some don’t care to understand is maternal mortality doesn’t increase only bc of trying to deliver or going to term with risky pregnancies but also the lengths they take to abort somewhere else (travel/sketchy alleyway docs/failed late abortions).

It’s like I tell the super liberal friends that want looser restriction on border control/immigration, it just reduces the the finite pie for each American citizen for the good will safety nets they may need. You can’t have both.

If you are a fiscally conservative person you would be pro condoms and pro choice, and pro immigration enforcement.

Although I am fiscally conservative, I think that takes a backseat when we were talking about Taking the life of a baby

That’s actually not true. We are seeing pregnant women who are unvaccinated have significantly more morbidity and mortality compared to those vaccinated. If the mom is sick that can absolutely cause issues with the fetus including death. Pregnancy can cause substantial health issues gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, pulmonary embolism etc.

How about you need to have a license to have a kid?
I joke

So your point is thank goodness for abortion because of our country’s finances?

Then you should want to expand safety net programs because that fetus becomes a baby then becomes a toddler then becomes a kid to a potentially unfit parent or one without means.

At what point on its timeline do you stop caring about that fetas/baby?

Maternal mortality is more important but if you want to save every fetus and bring it to this world with an altruistic overtone you try to convey, you need to take care of it after you bring it to this world or you are just hypocrites.

I can’t think of a better example of money well spent then on an unborn babies life or or children that need support.

So by your line of thinking, we should just terminate the lives of violent criminals rather than trying to incarcerate and rehabilitate them. Because it will save a lot of money....

That not new news. Maternal mortality is at 0.026% Our healthcare can handle those issues the vast majority of the time.

Abortion mortality is estimated at around 0.030%

Health of the mother is low on the list as is rape and incest.

The most common reason is financial and right behind that is being too busy with another child, the interference with educational plans (read: I want to college and can't because I got knocked up)

100 billion of 3.5 trillion would help take care of those babies. Take another 100 billion and end homelessness. Knowing there are a thousand millions in a billion and one thousand billions in a trillion. Seems like the folks looking for 3.5 trillion are the hypocrites they would still have 3.3 trillion left after taking care of the babies and housing and feeding the homeless. Think about all the jobs it would create. Maybe our next president would be one of those babies. No joke think about that. That’s the definition of hypocrisy

As long as you support them and their families after they are born and consistent in your views, i have no problem with you spending money to help as long as you don’t raise taxes.

I’m starting to realize why some here don’t flinch much with the amount of covid loss in this country (700,000+) …because if you think every fetus was a baby we probably loss 100 times that in natural and unnatural abortions in the same time period. You guys must be grieving especially since you want to save all the fetuses.

Curious, if your wife had a miscarriage, do you create a tombstone for the loss since it is already a baby to you when you are a Catholic?

I guess we can stop saving the dolphins, whales and close dog shelters as well. In the future humans will look back at our generation as barbarians.

So funny you don’t think 3.5 trillion is going to raise your taxes and cause you to pay even more everywhere you go? You have no idea where the monies are going and neither do I but you have no problem. Blind faith. No response otherwise to your comments, see my thoughts above on barbarians. Yes my family mourned the loss after a miscarriage. We are different you and I for sure but this is an open forum for discussion.

its very unlikely someone who is born into teenage pregnancy, where the couple is likely not together, becomes president.

statistics are pretty unanimous about success/health of child correlating to their family situation. the child didnt ask to be a part of this world, and definitely not as a player starting the game with both arms tied behind their back. a child without support leads a much more difficult life.

now you can argue over those points, but really the answer is that you should be able to get an abortion if you need it. an "oopsie" pregnancy does not qualify. a rape qualifies. genetic testing qualifies. a pregnancy under 18 should be debated. 14 yr old should qualify. these situations may be minimal, so who cares if they are written in as exceptions? and of course unless generic testing is pretty strong, there is a limit to when you qualify. cant throw the baby out month #8.

generally the idea that an abortion baby becomes president is so much less likely then them being on the opposite side of the spectrum. struggling to make ends meat, mental health issues, etc. its pointless to make that notion in these arguments.

There once was a man named Barack who was born to an 18 year old mother. The father was rarely present during his infancy and was actually married to someone else from Kenya at the same time. They divorced when the child was 2. That child eventually became president.

I hear your points above. Thinking 200 billion would go along way to change our approach overall. Super small price to pay out of the 3.5 or 1.5 trillion. Better to give the money to solve problems rather than line pockets of donors and big corporations. I believe climate change is real, we just are not going to buy our way out. The earth is round with lots of other people living on it.

So maybe my suggestion wasn’t so obscure. Forgot about Barack, thanks for the reminder.

haha the earth is definitely round with people on it.

what about guys like bezos? they have money that could end basically every problem in the world. seriously. instead theyre putting mankind back decades like having a peen measuring contest with elon and crushing NASA/space program.

I agree we are different for sure 🤨

Why just mourn a miscarriage? Why not do the same thing you would do for a baby? Funeral services etc. You didn’t bury your miscarriage? Why not? It’s a baby right?

Who said I wanted 3.5 .trillion or didn’t believe they would raise taxes? I believe in smaller gov and less taxes but I also believe gov is still important with the hopes it’s smaller and efficient.

If you want save all the fetuses we will have spend money on it . Without raising taxes you will need to reallocate resources to take care of it if you want to remain on your morale high ground.

adoption is VERY expensive and difficult to do. and it potentially brings the mother more grief than abortion. what of they cant be adopted? usually they go to foster homes, group homes, and is a bad situation for them.

not really a valid answer.

A very depraved post. Sounds like you have never had anybody close to you experience a miscarriage. I pray you never do.

But nonetheless here you go:

What was depraved about?

We have had many miscarriages and lost a baby.

Article only talked about aborted fetuses. What about all the fetuses that died naturally? Are they not babies to you?

its not a baby. as the above poster stated, are you throwing a funeral for a first trimester fetus? i mean, they are grieving a ton right? the abortions in question are those made for the right choices. its what the woman WANTS. theyre choosing to get it. for the right reasons. am i missing something???

meanwhile having a child out there who doesnt have their biological parents bouncing around foster homes because their parents "didnt love them" is pretty brutal. id assume suffering is worse for humans capable of complex thoughts and self awareness, as opposed to something like, a first trimester fetus.
