FSU players will sue for back pay

And away we go !!

Seriously, it’s in the best interests of 85% of current NCAA schools to secede and start their own association / leagues.

Dealing with this kind of stuff is utterly ridiculous and not worth the current benefit of athletic/school exposure via the NCAA.

How much decline would Seton Hall University as a whole really go thru if we left the NCAA? There’s a lot more schools like us than there are the Alabamas, Texas’, Michigans, etc.

In short time we would all forget about the NCAA while the rest of the big boys deal with the ridiculousness

Give it 5-10 years and you won’t miss it a bit. Especially if a new tournament is more competitive .

Look at how much the NCAA has tried to mess up the football rankings/playoffs. BCS and on and on. It’s just not worth it anymore.

I wonder what that would look like and how it could even unfold. I believe the NCAA is the legal party for all the major funds collected through television, advertising, etc. with those locked in contracts. All the revenue they don’t want the players to touch, LOL.

The ncaa does not really rule over college football...it is complicated

The revenue loss would hurt a ton. And would still be on the hook for the recent settlement but without any NCAA revenues to offset it, etc.

Good ol' Primo Spears listed in the filing. He is now on his 4th school in 4 years (LOL), one of which was with Georgetown in 2022-23 and played well against us.

Karma will get all of these stupid, bratty, entitled kids one day.

Leonard Hamilton spends a lifetime in coaching and mentoring young people, and this is what he gets?

If kids got promised money and it was not delivered, it's a contract. Hamilton has been in the middle of alot of recruiting issues over the years.

It's stupid, bratty, and entitled to expect to receive what you are promised, particularly after a year of getting dicked around about it!

Just think of all the diverse interests that have contributed to the morass that is college sports today and here’s just a few:

The NCAA
Agents both professional and street
The Players
The Courts
The Law Firms
The Schools coaching staff
The players family
The schools big boosters
The Conferences

That represents just a quick , partial list and why it’s going to take a considerable time to sort things out and find an equitable solution that’s fair .

LOL!!!

Leonard Hamilton is one of the most corrupt ever. Kentucky and a Fedex package.
if you are hinting at the chris mills saga, didn't hamilton leave kentucky spring of 86 for oklahoma state head job? thought dwayne casey was the assistant that was connected to the fedex?

How could you miss the actual Universities and University Presidents. They are the ones that could have solved this and should be the ones that solve this. But its worse than herding cats. They've lost all control.

I agree and what has happened is that athletic success is considered more important to a university then its academic mission.

Yes. Unless that "promise" is on paper, take it with a grain of salt. The point is, they shouldn't be paid for playing college basketball. The system is completely, utterly broken. It is not fixable.

Never been a big fan of his but the point is the players shouldn't be getting hundreds of thousands of dollars for playing a college sport.

They already were….

Now it’s out in the open and they aren’t afraid to go after coaches and schools..that’s the only difference

And yes money has gone up..but not as much as is reported..it’s more that more kids get something

But this has been standard since wooden

Hopefully the Judge is an Animal House fan and says “you messed up, you trusted a college coach. “ Case dismissed.

Since a CBA isn’t happening, maybe start with a standardized two year contract form that everyone has to sign— coach, player, agents, collective that is paying the money. IDK.
