And newark should realize a great seton hall program brings em in
How bout some NIL '$$ newark?
Why not ?As good a cause as any?You want the city of Newark to contribute to SHU's pay for play?

Obviously I know that. I’m just pointing out that I coincidentally had a similar conversation yesterday, while at bunny’s, to the topic of this thread/article.Bunny's is not in Newark?
Tax dollars shouldn’t be spent on sports, but private businesses would definitely benefit from having strong sports teams in their community.
Hey being born and raised in newark I can definitely tell you they have squandered tax payer money on a lot worseSo have the city government take local and state tax payer $$ and use it for pay for play for a private university not located in the city?
Lol okay.
And yes, keeping SHU bball relevant is as good as any other cause a government could pursue. Similar to helping with food stamps, etc.
Well.....we will all soon be paying the Rutgers athletes, so.......Tax dollars shouldn’t be spent on sports, but private businesses would definitely benefit from having strong sports teams in their community.
Rutgers sports receive tax $$$ from the state.Tax dollars shouldn’t be spent on sports, but private businesses would definitely benefit from having strong sports teams in their community.
And look how good that’s turned out. 😂Rutgers sports receive tax $$$ from the state.
Have to agree with this unfortunately. I was in the Ironbound for a dinner on Tuesday and took the train. Newark Penn Station is just as bad as it was years ago when I worked at Prudential.Unfortunately a lot of the new visitors over the next few days will see the state of Newark Penn Station and remember to themselves not to come back.
Both of you are spot on. My brother worked for NJ Transit and we would meet for games. Very bad and a shame.Have to agree with this unfortunately. I was in the Ironbound for a dinner on Tuesday and took the train. Newark Penn Station is just as bad as it was years ago when I worked at Prudential.
Pretty much looks like every other big metro train station.Unfortunately a lot of the new visitors over the next few days will see the state of Newark Penn Station and remember to themselves not to come back.
I do not agree with that. But the comment is not so much about the appearance/structure, but the fact that I don't believe anyone feels safe there.Pretty much looks like every other big metro train station.
I don’t know why they wouldn’t. The place is crawling with cops, but even if not, there’s nothing threatening about it. Not at all. You’d have to be pretty fragile to even perceive it.I do not agree with that. But the comment is not so much about the appearance/structure, but the fact that I don't believe anyone feels safe there.
Yeah, so if the state decided to provide some type of financial incentive to lure a business to Newark, would that be problematic? If they are willing to do that for a different business, why not Seton Hall. Heck, I'll make it simpler than that, have the state (or the city, but it's more likely to be the state) pay for Seton's Pru rental fee. Newark businesses get the financial bump up that Seton Hall games spring, Seton gets to keep more money from using the Rock in Prudential gets paid in full. Everybody wins right? So have the city government take local and state tax payer $$ and use it for pay for play for a private university not located in the city?
Lol okay.

Exactly why
This is a good point. As an example Simon Property Group that owns many malls across the country will not allow their malls to have empty stores. If a tenant is having problems they step in. Aerospostale, Forever 21, Brook Brothers and JC Penny filed for bankruptcy and Simon bought the company or made an investment in them with private equity companies. They look at it as a return on investment.Exactly why
Ctly why newark, pru center and devils should help fund NIL. Morecfannies in seats returns higher ROI for NIL investment
Was a turner broadcast...they promoted upcoming playoffs and stanley cup finals...shu logo was behind the baseline and shu draped table banners were opppsite of game camera angleUnless I missed it during the broadcast last night, but no mention of Seton Hall as host team. They only mentioned home of devils and showed their banners.
Thanks. I forgot the promo angle. They could have shown our final four banner. Was a turner broadcast...they promoted upcoming playoffs and stanley cup finals...shu logo was behind the baseline and shu draped table banners were opppsite of game camera angle
Except problem is SHU only plays approx 15 games a year at Pru and honestly Pru could probably fill a few of those dates with crowds for other events that draw even better than a good SHU team. Should they get some NIL from Pru Center, definitely but not sure whether a “good” SHU team affects the arena bottom line all that much in the end. This is a good point. The tournament hasn't delivered now thar Cinderella has been cancelledThe Pru center looked great last night. Clean as a whistle. The crowd was ready but the game did not deliver.
Good point. Video killed the radio star and NIL killed Cinderella 👸☠️🏀😢The tournament hasn't delivered now thar Cinderella has been cancelled
