In fact we need all the BE teams to dominate the NIT

No one will remember or care. I don’t think anyone views the NIT champ in that light. The story is the conference as a whole getting shown no respect.

Pretty dumb to open it up before the season is over.

This year, the portal opens Monday, March 18 and closes Wednesday, May 1. Postgraduate student-athletes for fall and winter sports could enter the portal before March 18 but must enter by May 1.
The NCAA selected that date as the regular season ended on March 17.

So far the BE team are being left in the dust! Not a good showing so far. Let's hope SHU and Villanova can win some games and keep the season alive!

I agree 100% and if we have a chance to blow them out ( which I think we will not do ) we have to set a tone for next year .

Eh, these NIT games are different than the NCAA games IMO. A team not showing for the NCAA, like Virginia last night, generates discussion. A team not showing for the NIT will not. These are functionally one level above "secret scrimmages" or "preseason games".

I don't want to let the awful NCAA Tourney Committee off the hook. Losing would do that or give them another lame excuse (see Clingan being hurt for a great example) to fall back on.
