No Big Ten in the Final Four

We were 7-25 this year. Who are we laughing at?
I'm laughing at the ever-present hubris of a mega-conference with 18 teams, 8 of which made the tournament and none of which made the final four. I suppose you must not be exposed to the boasting of big 10 conference members.

And the Big East didn't even get one team into the Sweet 16.
The Big East is now a significantly smaller conference than the BIG, with much less cash flo. Despite the advantages, the so-called BIG continues to not produce a champion in the dance. This is worth noting.

I'm plenty exposed to it. I don't care. We won seven games. We have no room to make fun of anybody.

So, The Big10 had a solid Tournament this go around. The issue with that conference has been in past years where they were mainly overrated. Mich St. under Izzo has been consistently a top program. Purdue has been excellent. However, no titles for so long stands out.

My fave NCAA showing by the BE was 91.

9 BE teams. 7 invites, 6 1st rd wins, 3 S16, 2 E8

I can still remember the Holy Shit! look of disbelief in Lute Olsen's mug as he walked off the court after we beat them. AZ eliminated us in 88, beating us by many buckets of points and I think Lute was expecting a repeat.

The Big Ten still won 62% of its NCAA games while the Big East won 44%. The round of 16 was the big disappointment, but the three losses there were all to #1 seeds, followed by another loss to a #1 seed in the round of 8.

This past season may be a one off. We're laughing at the fact that the Big East has been much more successful with a bunch on NCAA championships, and the Big Ten is 0-25.

Was our season with $1.5M in NIL money more of a disaster than RU with $3M in NIL and two Top 10 NBA draft picks in their lineup? We are going into next season with an almost 4 fold increase in NIL resources, and RU basketball is competing with football over their resources.

I'd rather be in our shoes.
