Not good for NYC

With the amount of people proving they can work at home. NY may be toast already.Real Estate
taxes crucial to survival for NY. Restaurant closings and less office building occupancy could
lead to enormous problems and couple that with less cops and more crime and anybody who
can leave will leave.
 
Did you even read the whole article, or just the headline. People are still leaving but at a slower rate.

Time to buy in Manhattan. A temporary blip in time. As I said before, this is going To be the best buying opportunity to buy in Manhattan since 9/11.
You’re already seeing a significant change by corporations regarding return to work. Also wait to see how fast companies begin to change their tune About relocating with dirt cheap commercial space in Manhattan,

I have an appt. with a realtor to look at a couple of apartments on the Upper West Side on Friday, as I think it may be a good time to dip your toe in the water.

I know two younger people looking for rentals in Manhattan and they have plenty of choices all of a sudden and have a lot of bargaining power to lower their rents. Another told their landlord they would not renew and got a 35% rent cut and ended up staying. All in Manhattan. Probably a good long-term opportunity to buy but I wouldn't if the city continues to be lead by dolts like DeBlasio. He is single handedly ruining the city.

renters even having .00001% of bargaining power in NYC shows you just how far its fallen. let alone something like 35% rent cut. renters had absolutely no leverage when looking for an apt.

broker fees were virtually unavoidable, im guessing the property owner is covering them to stay competitive. seems like nyc was the only city where they could have the renter cover broker fees which shows you just how little leverage anyone had.

Much of Hudson County also had broker fees.
 
to be covered by the tenent? it should be illegal and nyc was acrually working on changing the law but i believe they backed out last minute
I've seen them in Boston, Philly, NY, Hoboken and yes covered by the tenant. Who do you think has power with legislators tenants or landlords? Follow the money if you want the answer (usually the case).

philly 100% does not do that across the board. never had it in hoboken either but that counts as nyc.
