Nothing but NET

well its clear we want usc to win.

if nova wins, we have a chance at 3rd and keeps them a Q1 win, but now competes with us for avoiding dayton

if nova loses, we cant get 3rd, we lose a Q1 win, but one less bubble opponent.

the bubble is big, i don't care about getting 3rd or 4th. i dont think 3rd in the BE would help us avoid dayton (i could be wrong). i think

which means it boils down to the amount of competitors vying for dance and if 6v5 Q1 wins matter.

woof. i think i'm rooting for nova to lose. their NET is good and if they beat a ranked creighton team they may just hop us in the seeding and land us in dayton. thats what im landing on and i have no idea if i'll feel this way in 3 minutes
Wrong. 3 way miniconferene we are 1-3, creighton 3-1,Marquette 2-2. Our only chance is tie with Marquette we win tie breaker.

It looks good from a historical perspective and might help Sha win COY.

But the committee has stated that conference standings do not get factored into you earning a bid / seeding etc.

In fact, teams lower in the conference standings have jumped teams above them previously in terms of who has gotten in and who hasn’t.

They have also said that head to head results will not determine if one team gets in over the other. This I don’t agree with. But they have stated it.
i know what the committee states, but its a closed door meeting behind a skewed representative. they never post a rubric or or a guide to their decision.

that's because they have liberty to go back on any of their criteria if they like a team for whatever reason.

theres no reason for this thing to be as un transparent as it is

I think it helps put into context a general body of work for SOS, quality of play (not getting blow out too often), and home / road / neutral.

So sure I believe it’s factored in when distinguishing that a team in the 30s did a much better job than a team in the 70-80s.

But when they sit down and decide if NET team 45 should be in over NET team 62, I think that differential is out the window and now they are diving into the nitty gritty of what you actual did in terms of who you beat and where you beat them.
cant help to think theres no way a 2nd place major conference team doesnt make the tournament. it would be historic, even in a 3 way tie scenario

Always funny to me the anxiety around rooting for / against other teams as if it has any impact on outcomes
does rooting for seton hall from your tv have impact on the outcomes? no but we still do it lol. to root for certain teams right now is essentially rooting for shu . all those teams are wearing shu jerseys in my mind

"most likely" a lock with a win? what is this nonsense??
We are in. But the reference to "efficiencies ".

So we totally disrespect them, act like bullies and it helps us. Cause it helps our efficiencies. So much more efficient to keep the walkons on the bench then to give them time and maybe lose some of the lead. Yeah. Way to go. Omg. This is how we as a sport go forward?

It is well documented that changing my shirt at halftime to the one i wore for that last win helps the team.

I hope you have shirts for every bubble team and bubble opponent. And that there is some kind of red zone for ncaam.

yup. its literally how much you can beat the dregs by. it means so much more. some team will lose a major player running up the score at the end of the game. almost happened to us. could happen tonight.

and crazy thing is it will fuel bench players transferring out.

Wrong. I’ve blamed myself for losses just for not being in the right spot on the couch.

I don’t let my fiancé watch games anymore. 0-3 this season when she watches. However, Shes watching tonight. Quite frankly may have to call it off if we lose

This is incorrect as well. Here …

Only shot is 2way tie with Marquette. Highest team in standings is UConn. We split, Marquette got swept. 3way we lose the mini conference

That's what I said.........

Two things had to happen for SH to be third (assuming a win vs. DP): 1) Creighton win, 2) Marquette loss. Only #1 happened. If Villanova had won, Seton Hall would have been locked into #4 no matter what happened in the Marquette game.

We can tie for second with Creighton and Marquette at 13-7. If that happens we get the fourth seed.

Not as far as seeding. We’re either third or fourth.
Did I not literally say we would be the fourth seed if we tied for second? I mean you quoted my post.

The only scenario that we could have finished with the third seed is if Marquette had lost Saturday and we tied for third with them.
