On the telecast of the Michigan State trouncing by Alabama in the CFP Cotton Bowl Play-In, the camera caught MSU basketball coach Tom Izzo in the crowd, and the announcer said that Izzo had brought the entire basketball team to Dallas to watch the Bowl game.

How is that within NCAA rules?

Just wondering.

I was wondering about that myself. Educational field trip? Although I love Izzo and the Spartans. There are few BB coaches in the country that I like better than Tom Izzo.

It's an example of the new NCAA philosophy of " Different Rules for Different Schools".

Bingo!

Not quite and the new rule has been in effect for 2 years now. If the school wants to pay for it it's OK. Maybe our golf team will visit Raleigh NC for our basketball games in the NCAAs. Some of you guys actually believe your own BS.
