OT: Sean Miller to Texas

How about his issues as a coach at Arizona? Really don’t think all coaches his age or younger have done that.
I mean he was probably extreme to some degree but given his resources I think most would have probably done the same or did the same. Or at least something close to it. He probably gets more criticism in the coaching community for not figuring out a way to take care of Book Richardson who has seemingly been black-balled but was one of his "main" guys forever if not his "main" guy.

Agreed. I mention to my UCONN buddies quite often about why they haven't gotten poached. In almost every sport (especially the NFL), the assistants are hot commodities. Two natty wins and not a sniff. Murray and Young make good bank (little under a million) but that pales in what they'd make as head coaches.
They've gotten offers, but they're looking for mid major or better. Hurley says they need to take off, which will set them up for their next job. I consider every day we have them a bonus at this point.

The Big East is done. They can’t compete with the schools in the SEC and Big 10. Any good coach in the Big East will eventually leave for a school that has tons of NIL money. It will be interesting to see what happens with Hurley. If he leaves, then you know.

I don't agree Cern.

Big East has to up its game, but we are seeing in coaching whispers a sea shift. If reports are to be believed, Cronin, Collins, Willard, Moser are all interested in Nova. Pikeill looking to move with less NIL money. Iowa hoops NIL money is laughable.

Nova is a blue chip job, but it speaks to revenue sharing model creating a more competitive model for Big East. These basketball programs at these football schools are not treated as well as football. Does UCLA really fly commercial on Allegiant? This may be an NCAA tourney tie in, but we have chartered flights since PJ.

St John's shoots just 10% from 3 - in Sweet 16

UConn gave Florida all it could handle and should have won game.

Big East has to circle the wagons, work with each other to keep recruits in conference and spend money wisely.

This time last year, I did not think the Big East could do it. With revenue sharing model, I think it possible.

And once that happens, the football conferences will change the rules again!!

How many times can one leave the same school? 🤣🤣💀
I heard a conversation on the radio recently that talked about schools raising the cost of letting a coach leave before his contract expired as a way to cut down on coaches leaving. With so much money in college sports today I’m not sure that would work.

There are people here living under a rock even with the tremendous job NY Shore does with PSA. I thought Texas would have been looking for a coach with a higher current profile. Surprised they didn't go after Wade.
If reports are to be believed, Wade already has a strong a$$ offer from NC State.

Coaches have been leaving BE schools for greener pastures for years.

Jim O'Brien from BC to Ohio State and Rick Barnes from PC to Clemson are just two. That's more than 30 years ago now.

It’s always been the case bc the BE was never football rich and never will be. Chasing it nearly ruined them once.

And that’s ok!

Well you got a hybrid league...invite Miami in and other northeast independents. Was not sustainable

Wouldn’t it be nice if a anti-trust case was successful and what most of what’s killing the BE and the mid majors was reversed.Ater all it was court decisions that were a major fact of how we got to where we are today.

If he didn't leave to take the LA Lakers, I strongly doubt any college programs is going to hire him away. I do think there's a risk he might go either the Nets or the Knicks offered him though.
