Real high-level competitive game here, 74-73 MU :28 left. Kam Jones has 30.

St. John's has had such a good season (4 losses by total 7 points too), but I didn't realize they "only" had 3 Q1 wins (3-4). They're also 10-0 vs Q2, lol. Quirky.

Kam Jones was absolutely phenomenal in this game. But missed 2 huge FTs after he took a fall, which were a killer. Marquette left some PTs at the FT line to say the least, although so did SJU as is their norm.

Luis made some gigantic plays.

And then they win because Kadary strips to Wilcher who makes a great pass to Zuby who finishes at the buzzer.

Unreal game.

The lack of Q1 Ws and opportunities and overall weakness of the Big East compared to a few other leagues is the only reason why they have no shot at a 1 seed.

I do think this W was important for them because even if they got knocked off Thursday in the first BE tourney game they are probably locked into at worst a 3 seed now. And have a pretty decent chance at a 2.

Was watching as the Johnnies taunted the fans at the sideline. Lots of those Marquette fans were pointing or their middle were injured. Clear as day on TV.

Yup. Including me. But we as fans get informed my what we read, see and hear from coaches and others.

Also perhaps general maturation helps - most of us were different as freshman compared to when we were super seniors.

And the Pitino factor too.

Agreed w general maturation and Pitino.

But the fact that our fans watched him get physically demolished in the CU crazy OT game last year and then called him soft when his back was messed up?

Just highlighted the problem with our fans last year. Most of our posters who called him soft would have been in the ER after that game.

Anyone who had eyes and actually played sports could literally see him playing with a lame back for the rest of the year and still called him out.

To sum up - regarding The Smooth Operator - our fans were inconsiderate, unthankful ingrates last year.

Part of it though was definitely the general soreness thing, don’t you think? If we didn’t have that press conference with Sha saying what he said and the players up there looking like they were in a hostage video, I’m not sure all the other stuff would have escalated. I mean that plus some of the other stuff over the years people said is what drove my view.

Another thing to put at Sha's feet.

Idk though, I let my eyes determine my thinking.

Not the words of Sha and Jerry Carino. And the 3 year old words of famous sour puss Jimmy B. But that's just me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The dude was literally grimacing and hobbling around the court while wearing a back brace and getting ice/heat during before and after games. While still getting double doubles and near triple doubles and leading us to wins. And Sha acted like a Class A jackass and our fans followed his lead.

Also -- just because Sha knowingly hurt his chances at pro career playing on a destroyed ankle at Knicks summer camp, doesn't mean other players want to risk their physical health permanently. Just more about Sha's mentality that needs to change.
