Jordan Spieth with a dominant performance wire-to-wire, breaking a bunch of records along the way...never was really challenged today at all. One of the most amazing performances and he hasn't even turned 22. Golf could use another rivalry and a Spieth/McIlroy one could produce the next Palmer/Nicklaus; Woods/Mickelson version. Seems like a very mature kid and respects the game.

Young guns seem to be taking over the tour now....Spieth, McIlroy, Reed, Johnson, Fowler, Day, etc. Phil is 45 now and Tiger, although in contention this week is running out of time, with injuries taking a toll. My guess is maybe Phil/Tiger win no more than two majors between them, so Jack's major record is safe for several years to come.

Phil played exceptional and Tiger showing some glimpses of the old but can't disagree with the post.

Spieth was great!! Followed him for six holes at Augusta Friday and he was incredible. Augusta is Disneyworld. I'm a new fan of Jordan's. The kid is incredible and good for golf.

Spieth looked more like a seasoned veteran out there the way he played. Future is extremely bright for this guy if he can maintain the focus.

I don't see Tiger ever catching Nicklaus' record, and wonder if he's even got another major win in him. The game has caught up with him with so many guys who emulated the game that Tiger came with nearly 20 years ago. Couple this with his physical issues and I think he may have hit the wall.

Tiger ushered in a new era of golf player with number of players like McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Spieth, etc.. All of these guys are athletic and be long and crazy accurate within 130 yards of the pin. If you can't hit 300+ and have a great chip and put game, you're not making it very far on the PGA with the exception of maybe the U.S. and British Opens.

Tiger stopped taking PEDs and now he sucks and keeps getting injured. Im almost 100% positive.

Honestly Shuathlete, that thought has popped into my mind on more than 1 occasion. His constant injuries are indicative of injuries when off that stuff. But do PED's help your short game at all or your putting? The guy still can hit it long. But you are right it def makes you wonder.

Who knows what if anything PED's had to do with it. Remember, Tiger's dad had him practicing like a maniac since he was a kid and he kept that same routine for a number of years before the injuries. You need to rest muscles and joints or it takes a toll. With Tiger, I think it's a combination of three things: 1) The injuries...back AND knee is a killer for a golfer; 2) The next wave of players are just as long and not intimidated by him (It used to be players were totally psyched out to be in his group...now they like to beat the legend); 3) The whole scandel with his wife really took the mental edge off his game. You have to have talent, but there is also a huge mental part of the game and that had to weigh on him as a major distraction during what should have been the most dominating time of his career. He hasn't been the same since.

Tiger is now in that group of top 20 or so golfers after the top five...can win a tournament and will likely win one or two a year, but not dominant like he used to.

exaggerating injuries is the ticket to getting PEDs administered pretty much legally.

PED's don't prevent injuries, and no, they don't help the short game.

Hes on record making payments to the same guy who supplied ARod.... but probably for cough drops or something.

If you go to any PGA event its still the MASSIVE crowd that follows Woods. Even now that he sucks. I definitely think the PGA went so far as to cover up a suspension with one of his numerous injuries.

Now that he won't pass Jack's record maybe he goes for Wilt's . Friends of mine on Jupiter Island say he's still running.

...so he's gone from taking PED meds to ED meds to improve his "game"???

Spieth and McIlroy are the real deals but yet the golf media will continue to waste all their time on Tiger and Lefty. The golf media should be promoting both Spieth and McIlroy all the time but continue to waste their coverage on Tiger hitting golf balls on a driving range and watching him practice putt instead. Sad.

The Tiger coverage is and has been ridiculous. It's maddening. He was one of the greatest for sure and he will win some more maybe but the sports coverage acts like he is still number one and every Tiger fart is covered in ridiculous detail by CBS, Golf Channel etc. It's crazy. They need to spend more time on Rory and some of the upcoming youngsters like Speith. Phil is a media darling and always will be but he does not get nearly the coverage Tiger gets.

If they show Crenshaw crying one more time I will throw a brick through my TV. ( FTR, I read every one Pennicks books and I did not cry)
