According to this, Bennett signed a two-year extension in June. The story also states that there are no health related issues.

Tony Bennett, 55, posted a 364-136 record at Virginia, guiding the program to a national title in 2019 as well as two ACC tournament titles.

Shocking based on his age, assuming nothing else going on. Accomplished. Job security. Legendary status at the school for winning a title. His Dad was a lifer and I figured he would be too.

Maybe it’s just not wanting to deal with the NIL nonsense. Maybe he just wants to enjoy his family and the many millions he’s made. I guess we will find out in the coming days, weeks or months.
