Does it bother you that it’s a conscious part of my purchase decisions?Guess you won't be buying Apple products. Or are currently not a Apple person.

No. I could care less why you buy products. Just pointing out not buying China is difficult especially when the best tech products from Apple aré built there.Does it bother you that it’s a conscious part of my purchase decisions?
I never said it was easy...it will take us 2-3 years to be totally independent of our sourcing Chinese product, but we are methodically doing it. There will be exceptions but like I said, it's a conscious part of my personal and business decision making process right now (and also becoming our customers as well).No. I could care less why you buy products. Good luck with that. It is practically impossible to escape it. Clothes, furniture, home goods and especially the one product I could not go with out is Apple.I never said it was easy...it will take us 2-3 years to be totally independent of our sourcing Chinese product, but we are methodically doing it. There are a lot of "non-China" options on clothing, furniture, home goods. It doesn't take that much work to research a product to see it's origin of manufacture. Auto companies, appliance manufacturers, etc. do a great job. I have an iPhone and it is a creature comfort, but that's a decision that will be in play next time I'm due for a new phone. I am encouraged that health care systems are writing specs into their RFP's and supplier requirements now.Good luck with that. It is practically impossible to escape it. Agree. I think I made that pretty clear.non china is easier, made in america is impossible
i think its natural to confuse "stop buying china" as "buy american"Agree. I think I made that pretty clear.
To be honest, I don’t understand how some posters confuse the two. It’s pretty straightforward. In addition, I think there are two legitimate reasons to pull your purchases out of China between the labor practices and their part and being irresponsible about the pandemic. Millions of lives lost because of them. People have lost their entire livelihoods. In my book that should not go on punished. And I don’t need to wait for spineless politicians to do something about it.i think its natural to confuse "stop buying china" as "buy american"
if ur against china because if slave labor then the rest of those asian countries are probably off the menu
Would you hold bias against chinese immigrants of first or second generation that have businesses/restaurants in the states? To be honest, I don’t understand how some posters confuse the two. irresponsible is sugar coating it if youre someone who believes they acted that way on purposeTo be honest, I don’t understand how some posters confuse the two. It’s pretty straightforward. It’s clear that they withheld information on the virus that would have helped us (and the world) respond faster. I don’t think we have enough information to be sure of where the virus emanated and if it was released by accident or on purpose. If it was more nefarious then the US and the rest of the world should take much harsher actions.irresponsible is sugar coating it if youre someone who believes they acted that way on purpose
And are you happy with your inferior products?Never bought an Apple product in my life and probably won't in the future.

Hmm? is there a better consumer computer better than the Mac? I bought my first Mac in 2006. It was the first Mac that could run windows. It ran Windows better than any Dell or IBM computer I ever had. Any cell phone better than the iPhone? I have had Samsungs at work and were thoroughly disgusted with it. The delays with the touch, not as user friendly or intuitive. Apple Pay? Total convenience with the best antifraud component to it. iPad? So what products do you speak of that it isn't best in class?I wouldn’t say that, and I use Apple products.
Apple in my opinion, provides the best overall experience if you are using several of their products but they are not the best in class for most of their products individually.
apple currently makes the best budget phone by farActually got my first Mac in 1994. (Performa 475) and have been using them since and married a graphic designer so we have always had one in the house.
I got into PC gaming and building my own PC's closer to 1998 or so and got used to and still prefer PC’s.
Apples performance has been good especially once they switched over to x86 and were using the same chips as PC's. The difference in performance hasn’t been huge, you just typically get less for your money with Apple. But to be fair on laptops and phones at least, with the new M1 chip, it looks like they might be taking a leap ahead of any PC laptop and Phone right now.
For phones specifically though, I don't think most people would notice a difference in their experience if they are used to the OS, but in almost every phone release since the original iPhone, Apple was releasing a product inferior to their competitors in many ways outside of the ecosystem seamlessness. Most years they didn’t have the best camera, best performance, best battery, best screen etc. Not sure if you watch MKBHD on YouTube, but he summarized it well recently. Apple kind of sits back and watches the hardware advances from other companies to see what does well and consumers want and then they add it after that.
Maybe I’m too critical of them, but it’s as someone who owns a watch, Apple TV, HomePod, iPhone and my wife has a MacBook. They are all good products, but I know I’m paying a premium to stay in the ecosystem with any product I buy. If I were picking a phone just for what the phone does ignoring everything else, I’d probably get an Android device.

Just ordered my iPhone 12 pro. And what phone would u prefer over that?Depends on what your criteria is, but I’d probably get a Pixel 4a or OnePlus 7t (probably a few others as well) over the iPhone SE if you’re talking phone only.

the fact that in the year 2020 android phones send 1x1 inch 5 pixel videos via text is so pathetic its outrageous. get a native messenger app that can do it. you could send higher res vids back in flip phone days lmao. its an incredibly bad look.
I'm listening to Merge, he introduced me to Mozilla Firefox many, many years ago. Remember that?
If you are committed to the Apple ecosystem then getting a phone outside of that does make sense.
Refresh rate? Again no one can notice that. It’s a technical spec without a difference.Outside of the ecosystem and ease points which are both completely valid, it depends on what you would want from a phone. Again, I am a bit of a tech geek which makes some of Apple's decisions a little disappointing.
Like the refresh rate still being 60 hz in a $1,000 phone? Apple might be the only company in that price point with a 60hz display which is probably to make up for the fact that the battery is smaller than their competitors. I prefer a fingerprint reader to face id, so the notch is unnecessary and annoying in my opinion. Competitors have been putting them under the screen for a couple years. If your main concern is pictures, I do think there are a couple phones with a better camera. Though I do think Apple is probably the best for Video.
I'm not really knocking Apple. They make good phones really well. It's just not in their business model to lead in certain areas and I just wouldn't say others are inferior. The premium we pay for Apple isn't due to the specs, it is due to the overall experience in their ecosystem.
Just kidding a little. We all know you're a good dude!
