How the heck can Rutgers be running up a $70.6 million deficits if they make $61.5 million in conference distributions annually? Note that that $70.6 million deficit. So somehow their athletic program is $70.6 million in the hole, after getting $61.5 million a year in conference distributions alone, plus their share of college football playoff revenue of about 10 million, never mind, ticket, sales, sale of merchandising, rights, etc.

Rutgers’ athletics deficit topped $70M again in 2023-24. But it still wasn’t a record.
Rutgers spent an all-time record to support its athletics teams during the 2023-24 school year.
