I mean what do you expect with this staff and NIL budget ?Yikes
I grew up one town over and “exploit” is being generous. Cason had his own demons but Vitale continued to spin a much different story when he was on his speaking tours.Vitale coached Les Cason at East Rutherford HS in the late '60's. He regularly brought the kid to SHU games at Walsh. I don't know how true it is, but Vitale came under much criticism for allegedly exploiting the kid to advance his career. (Vitale continues to deny this situation.) Vitale became a Rutgers assistant a year or so after and Cason soon showed up at Rutgers, with a shadow of his former skills. He didn't last long.

Lol… Candlewick was a staple; it’s gone now but the Halfway in Carlstadt was our basketball team sponsor. My entire family is East Rutherford not sure on the exploitation but I will say Vitale is still a legend around town from the Candlewick to Ralphs.

You can be a legend and have some big stains on your past….aka Joe Paterno. Not mutually exclusive.
