Fall 2017 Schedule PDF
South Orange, N.J. – An 18-match schedule that includes eight home contests and four matchups with NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago was announced Wednesday by Seton Hall women's soccer head coach Rick Stainton.
The 2017 slate begins with a non-conference matchup against Siena on Aug. 18 at Owen T. Carroll Field. The Pirates then hit the road for four consecutive contests including a trip to Loyola (Md.) and local non-league foes Columbia, Fordham and Monmouth.
BIG EAST play kicks off when The Hall travels to DePaul on Saturday, Sept. 23, and SHU hosts its first conference game on Sept. 28 when Butler visits South Orange.
The 2017 docket features eight teams that finished in the NCAA Top-100 RPI in 2016, 14 in the Top-200. Four teams reached the NCAA Tournament including Georgetown, which reached the Final Four and finished the season ranked sixth in the final RPI standings.
Prior to the season opener, the Pirates will compete in a pair of exhibitions beginning with a 4 p.m. start on Aug. 9 against Stony Brook at Owen T. Carroll Field, before The Hall has its final tune up on Saturday, Aug. 12 at Lafayette at 2 p.m.
Stainton and the Pirates return 75.0 percent of their scoring and 71.8 percent of the total points from last season and welcome a vastly talented group of 10 incoming freshmen.
