LAST YEAR AGAINST BUTLER
Seton Hall collected three victories against Butler last season, running its all-time series lead to 15-5 against the Bulldogs. The Pirates have now won nine straight games against Butler.

On March 4, Park-Lane scored a game-high 21 points and the Pirates held Butler to just 15 second half points in a 58-39 victory in round one of the 2022 BIG EAST Tournament. Tied at the half, the Pirates limited Butler to just four points and 2-for-9 shooting in a game-changing third quarter. The Hall out-scored the Bulldogs, 16-to-4, in the third, scoring the first 11 points of the second half.

Cooks scored a career-high 35 points and Park-Lane set a new single-game assists program record as The Hall routed Butler, 84-55, on Feb. 22. Cooks was nothing short of brilliant, scoring 35 points on an efficient 15-for-20 from the field, including 3-for-6 from three-point range. Park-Lane collected her second-straight double-double with 17 points and a record-shattering 18 assists.

The Hall held Butler without a field goal for the first 7:12 of the fourth quarter and went on to defeat the Bulldogs, 72-56, in Hinkle Fieldhouse in their first meeting of the year on Feb. 6. During Butler's fourth-quarter drought, The Hall out-scored the Bulldogs, 14-2, to open a significant lead.

SCOUTING BUTLER
Butler is coming off a rough season in 2021-22 with just one victory in 28 games overall. The Bulldogs were winless, 0-18, in BIG EAST play. Their season came to an end with a 58-39 loss to Seton Hall in the opening round of the BIG EAST Tournament.

This year, the Bulldogs were picked to finish tied for ninth in the BIG EAST Preseason coaches' poll. Butler lost three starters to graduation, but added a talented freshman crop and a First Team All-MVC transfer from Valparaiso, as well as a pair of transfers from IUPUI, including All-Horizon League selection Rachel McLimore.

This season, the Bulldogs have already far exceeded their 2021-22 success and enter the weekend with a 6-7 record overall. They're coming off their first BIG EAST victory of the season, a 79-65 win at Xavier on Wednesday. Rachel McLimore leads the Bulldogs with 12.2 points per game.
