LAST GAME
Sophomore Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) had a game-high 19 points and the Seton Hall women's basketball team never trailed in a 66-57 victory at St. John's on Sunday. The victory clinches a first-round by for the Pirates in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament.

Seton Hall opened the third quarter with a 16-2 run and never looked back. The Pirates' lead grew to as many as 21 points before St. John's cut into it late.

The Pirates' sixth BIG EAST road victory of the season means they won't have to play in the first round on Friday, March 7 at the BIG EAST Tournament. The Hall can do no worse than the No. 5 seed. If it wins its final two games, it'll get the No. 3 seed and avoid BIG EAST Champion UConn until the title game.

Catalon had 19 points on 7-for-16 shooting, six rebounds and three assists. Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Yaya Lops (Stamford, Conn.) also had 16 points coupled with three rebounds and four blocked shots.

Seton Hall All-Time vs. the Blue Demons: DePaul leads, 24-10
Earlier this Year:
Seton Hall 72, DePaul 55 (F) – February 1, 2025 (Wintrust Arena)

PLAYOFF PICTURE
With two games left, Seton Hall and Marquette are tied at 11-5 for third place in the BIG EAST Conference standings. Claiming third place is key to potentially avoiding defending champion UConn until the championship game of the tournament. The Pirates finish with DePaul at home and Xavier on the road, while Marquette ends with Xavier at home and Connecticut on the road. Since the head-to-head series with Marquette was tied 1-1, the next tie-breaker is quality of victories. If both teams win out, Marquette will get the tie-breaker since their schedule would include a victory over UConn.

AGAINST DE PAUL
Seton Hall and DePaul will meet for the second time this season on Thursday. The Blue Demons own a 24-10 all-time series lead, but the Pirates have dominated the series recently, winning five of the last six meetings. Seton Hall is 12-4 in Walsh Gym this season, while DePaul is 5-7 on the road. The Hall is looking to sweep the home-and-home season for only the second time ever.

EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST DE PAUL
Graduate student Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) had 21 points to lead the Seton Hall women's basketball team to a 72-55 win at DePaul on Feb. 1 in Chicago.

The Blue Demons scored the first basket of the afternoon, but it was their last lead of the game as the Pirates answered with an 11-2 run and never looked back.

Masonius had a team-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) had 18 points, six rebounds and two steals. Sophomore Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) finished with 15 points, a career-high eight rebounds and was 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.

SCOUTING DE PAUL
DePaul was picked to finish ninth in the BIG EAST this season, according to the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. Jorie Allen was named a Preseason All-BIG EAST Team Honorable Mention.

The Blue Demons enter their second contest against Seton Hall with a 12-17 overall record and a 7-9 mark in BIG EAST play. They've already clinched the No. 6 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament and will face No. 11 Xavier in the first round. If Seton Hall earns the No. 3 seed, and DePaul defeats Xavier, the Pirates and Blue Demons will meet for a third time this season in the BIG EAST quarterfinals.

DePaul has struggled lately, having dropped six of its last seven games. Most recently, the Blue Demons fell to Creighton, 83-74, on Sunday. Allen continues to be one of the best players in the league, averaging a BIG EAST third-best 19.8 points per game. Taylor Johnson-Matthews is averaging 14.8 points per contest.
