With Seton Hall down a point and only 6.5 seconds left, Kaydan Lawson (Cleveland, Ohio) grabbed the rebound off a missed free-throw and dribbled the ball up the court. She found Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) on the right wing, who swung the ball into the paint for Masonius. Masonius, corralled by four defenders, broke loose and flipped the ball backward over her head just as time expired.

Masonius finished with a team-high 17 points to go with five rebounds. Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) had 11 points and five rebounds. Yaya Lops (Stamford, Conn.) had a strong defensive game with four rebounds and four blocks. She also added seven points.

AGAINST GEORGETOWN
Seton Hall and Georgetown will renew their long rivalry on Jan. 4 in Walsh Gym. The Pirates own a 46-30 all-time series lead, and have dominated the matchup in recent years. The Hall has won nine of the last 10 contests. Last season, the Pirates swept the home-and-home series, with Seton Hall rallying from a 23-2 deficit in Washington to stun the Hoyas, 57-49, on Dec. 20. The Pirates routed Georgetown, 71-54, in Walsh Gym on Jan. 31.

SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown finished sixth in the standings last season at 9-9, going 23-12 overall last year. Darnell Haney was named head coach of the Hoyas in March of 2024 after leading the team to 22 wins as interim head coach. The team's nine wins marked the most conference victories since the 2018-19 season.

Haney led his squad to an incredible run in the BIG EAST Tournament as the sixth-seeded Hoyas won three straight games to advance to the BIG EAST championship game for the first time in program history. The road to the title game also included a victory over then-No. 21 Creighton in Georgetown's first win over a team ranked in the AP poll since 2016. The Hoyas were selected to participate in the WBIT for their first postseason run since 2019. The reigning BIG EAST Co-Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-BIG EAST honoree Kelsey Ransom is back after leading the Hoyas with 14.1 points per game.

This season, Georgetown is picked to finish fifth in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference. Ransom was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

The Hoyas enter Saturday's contest with an 8-5 record overall and a 1-1 mark in BIG EAST play. Georgetown went 7-4 in non-conference and played a pair of opponents that Seton Hall also faced. They lost to Cincinnati on a neutral floor, 59-57, and defeated Howard on the road, 69-63. Most recently, Georgetown routed Xavier at home, 64-41, on Monday. Ransom currently ranks second in the BIG EAST with 20.1 points per game.

The Ladies need to come out and take it to Gtown. These next two at home are very important if they want to become a Bubble Team or better. Hopefully, they start to get back an injured player or two. They need to seize the moment with the Men's Team having a very off year. The moment to elevate this program has arrived.
