Orlando, Fla. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team improved to 2-1 on its spring break trip after a 5-1 win over St. Bonaventure, Wednesday morning at the USTA National Campus.

The Pirates got singles wins from Paige Wise, Imogen Brooker, Isabelle May, Tamsin Hart and Ellie Coe. Doubles matches were not contested due to a lengthy weather delay.

"The team fought very hard today for this win," said head coach James Enzler. "The energy that was missing for most of our Monday matches came back today and led to some gritty wins. I'm really proud of how all the girls fought today. As I discussed with the team, the energy and determination that we showed today needs to be there day in and day out for us to continue to be successful. Hopefully we can keep our foot on the gas and carry this level of focus into tomorrow's match as well."

Coe got the Pirates on the board first with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kelly Barnes in the No. 6 position for her first spring singles win. She was followed by her fellow freshman, May, who delivered a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Sienna Smith at No. 4.

The Bonnies got one back, but the Pirates clinched with wins at Nos. 5 and 3 from Hart and Brooker, respectively, and Wise also ended up a winner.

The Pirates will conclude spring break with a Thursday afternoon match against Saint Leo at 2 p.m.
