SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team used a season-high six goals to register its fourth win of the season as the Pirates soundly defeated Iona, 6-3, on Thursday evening at Owen T. Carroll Field.

Junior Julia Aronov (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and freshman Natalie Tavana (Middletown, Conn.) both tallied two goals a piece for the Pirates (4-2) while freshman Cara Milne-Redhead (Clitheroe, England) and junior Naomi Welch (Livingston, Scotland) also found the back of the net.

The scoring started early as Milne-Redhead crossed a ball into the box that bounced around and found its way back at the foot of Milne-Redhead. She took a shot on goal and scored just two minutes in. Iona responded quickly as the Gaels equalized and pulled ahead at 2-1 with 34 minutes left in the first half.

Roughly 10 minutes later, the Pirates charged ahead as Welch dumped the ball off to Aronov who placed a perfect pass to Tavana in stride. She took the pass with her right foot, passed it back to her left and registered her first career goal to tie up the score at 2-2. Tavana was able to put Seton Hall ahead before the half as she took a pass from Welch inside the 16-yard box and converted for her second goal of the evening.

Insurance goals after the break by Aronov and Welch extended the Pirates advantage to 5-2 but the Gaels pulled within two in the 79th. Aronov answered right back in the 86th as she chipped a shot over the keeper head from outside the box to pick up a brace and sealing the 6-3 win for The Hall.
