Pitino Out Tonight

This is wild. Clingan goes out vs SHU. Hopkins goes out vs SHU. Pitino out tonight. Don't wish for this stuff on anyone. But the game has to be played so opportunity is there. Take advantage of it.

Just curious can coaches on the bench be looking at their apple watches for words of instruction from Pitino?

Just win the game. Nobody felt sorry for us last year when Dre missed like 10 games, Kadary 6 and Yetna never played. Or the year before when we were forced to play Villanova and Providence short handed bc of this COVID stuff or when we lost Aiken consecutive years.

It sucks.

Agreed. I've posted that same idea in other threads. I'm just saying it's wild that all the things that sucked for us for years are happening to other teams against us.

Since I just tested negative after missing work for a week,
I'd say couldn't happen to a better ....

And don’t forget Chase Ross (MU 6th man) who went down with injury during our game and has yet to return to action.

players are all still the same . but i cant see how this isnt a great thing for shu.

The whole team should be tested. They were yelled at by Pitino during the game. They rode home on the plane together. I’d bet he’s not the only one who’d test positive

Maybe they are…

No reason for anyone to get tested for that virus’s spin-offs anymore

I don’t know anyone who still gets tested or is concerned if they have it with cold/flu like symptoms. Just rest up and stay home a few days. Or go to the doctor , could be an URI , flu, etc. the variants aren’t that bad , no one should fear getting them.

Go Pirates!

Regardless of the strength and effects, we worry that a kids season is done from every hard foul. You wanna take the chance that anyone from our roster (and theirs, to be fair) compromises their stamina. Whether it's the Rona or the flu, nothing wrong with being precautionary.

More on topic, interesting to see if Massiello still got it or his recent years at Manhattan make this a convenient layup for Sha to out coach him

Ross is done for the year. ACL.

Edit: Sean Jones has the torn ACL on Marquette, my mistake.

Ross reportedly has a separated shoulder. He's going to be re-evaluated in the next week or two.

Sean Jones is out for the year after suffering a torn ACL against Butler.

Didn’t he beat University of Florida?

Oh wait, wrong coach…

Yes, my mistake. Too many injuries out there, unfortunate for Marquette. Jones did tear his ACL in the Butler loss.

Please, enough with this baloney. It’s not your decision.

Did I hit a nerve? Appears so. I just think it's bad for the game unless he's truly ill. If he's testing for the sake of testing, what are we doing here?

Good break for Seton Hall though - catching a lot of those so far this year.

Well he’s so sensitive about this local branding thing this way he doesn’t have to lose at Seton Hall! They can asterisk it! 🤣

You are the person who makes this take until someone at the office gets you sick (not covid) and then says the person should have been thinking of others

Happened to me many times. I'm human, we get sick. Never have I blamed anyone for getting me sick. It happens, you suck it up and move on.

I may be reaching pretty far here but, given that this is Pitino we’re talking about, does anyone else think this may be a passive aggressive swipe at us for canceling the Iona game three years ago when multiple players/staff had covid? I seem to remember Pitino being irked and giving off the impression that we were leaving him high and dry with a gap in his schedule.

Like I said, probably just reaching….

edit: never mind, I just saw the tweet about one of their players being sick.

I’d suggest that collegiate athletics should have a different standard.
