Pitino Out Tonight

This is the kind of spot where a team can get dangerous..."our coach is out, one of our best guys is out...let's show 'em what we're made of etc etc"

Happened to me many times. I'm human, we get sick. Never have I blamed anyone for getting me sick. It happens, you suck it up and move on.
eh. if i could chose i would prefer not to be sick. girl at my work came in and told people shes been sick at the end of the day. its a dick thing to do especially since we are able to WFH for these exact reasons.

if i know im sick i reasonably try to not make others sick. i wont go crazy, but there is common sense to this.

I’ve learned that anytime someone tells me, “no I’m not sick, I have allergies”.

They are 💯 sick and lying!

I may be reaching pretty far here but, given that this is Pitino we’re talking about, does anyone else think this may be a passive aggressive swipe at us for canceling the Iona game three years ago when multiple players/staff had covid? I seem to remember Pitino being irked and giving off the impression that we were leaving him high and dry with a gap in his schedule.

Like I said, probably just reaching….

edit: never mind, I just saw the tweet about one of their players being sick.
That’s the thing with Rick. His antics never end so you never know what’s on face value.

Great coach. Tremendous coach. Bigger personality.

Of course. But getting sick is part of life.

Which is test every player/coach/staff member for a dozen or so diseases every time they don’t feel well?
Think about it. Every member iof that team was in close contact with Pitino. They will all go back to dorms tonight filled with hundreds of other students in close contact.

Pitino has more common sense that I’ve seen here. He is quarantining as much because he is contagious than he is not feeling up to coaching.

Some details on the 71-year-old who holds the low-stress job of St. John's head coach:

Pitino first began to feel poorly on Saturday morning before the team’s one-point loss to now-No. 18 Creighton in Omaha, which has been experiencing sub-zero temperatures, according to school officials. He felt worse during the team’s ride to the airport afterward on a bus with no functioning heating system due to the weather conditions.

Pitino didn’t feel well enough to run practice on Sunday, but felt better and ran Monday’s workout. He felt poorly again at the team hotel on Tuesday, was tested and came up positive.

Why do people still get tested for covid? I dont get it. Call it the flu and move on.. call it covid and youre a disease carrying monster.. so dumb
You do understand that if you have a bad “cold” and go to the doctor, not only might you be tested for Covid, but maybe even the flu…

Is it so dumb to test when you have a respiratory illness? Strep might get you antibiotics, Flu might get you tamiflu, is it so outlandish to test for Covid to treat a bad respiratory illness with the proper medication?

Or do you have to be outraged to politicize it?

I think Pitino was bothered more by the fact that Sha decided he didn't want to play Iona at MSG last season as would have been protocol.
