Police commit lethal act

Why did they use it multiple times.Probably because he was resisting.Still may be wrong but if you don’t resist you don’t get shot.

A little odd that a guy who has heart problems is using illegal drugs and resisting arrest. But it’s the cop’s fault….

Ever since Eric Garner almost everyone who gets arrested yells "I can't breathe" or something to the like. Speaking of Eric Garner, he was another one who if he simply placed his hands behind his back, he would be alive today. Yes, it was a minor offense he was being arrested for. However, the police didn't just choose to go arrest someone for breaking a minor law that day. They were sent there. Garner raised his hands and told the officers that he was not going. Once the police say you are under arrest, they are not allowed to just say Hey this is minor and he is resisting arrest so let's just let him go. Garner chose not to cooperate. The officers were then forced to get physical. Garner was a big man with health issues. The officers had to jump on his back at which time Garner was walking backwards towards a giant, plate glass window with an officer on his back. Any reasonable person would be in fear of being thrown through that window. It was Garner who chose to break the law, live an unhealthy lifestyle and resist arrest. If he swithched one of those three life choices, he would be alive today.

Is there ever a story where the police do something good out there. I'll bet there's 500 to 1 maybe 1,000 to 1 good stories to bad. If NYShoreGuy read those he probably wouldn't be posting this crap because he'd find out how severely outnumbered he is in reality.

The media won't post feel good stories about the police. It doesn't fit the narrative of the anti-cop movement.

I think any tragic event tends to get more coverage because that's just human nature. The "news" organizations are driven by views and they give attention to what they think will drive views. People tend to want to be outraged by what their watching so the "news" programs stay divisive.

That said, there have been plenty of stories about good cops in the media. CNN even has a recurring segment on the topic. https://www.cnn.com/specials/us/beyond-the-call-of-duty

About the original post here though, I don't see what the cops could have done differently.
Hard to watch, but what else were they supposed to do?

The news organizations want ratings so they can have sponsors that pay bigger money. The news media does not care if it is the truth or a complete lie. It is not only about police issues either. How many times does the program you are watching have a break in action to report the storm of the century on its way only to blow out to sea at the last minute? They try to be as divisive as possible, so people are divided. This way both will tune it to see if their side gets the coverage they feel they deserve. It is also on both sides of the aisle. Conservative outlets spin their side and Liberal outlets do the same.

We talk about so many industries and their moral responsibility to keep the air clean, to not harm the environment, etc yet we never address the complete imbalance that causes a breakdown of faith in our institutions that the media can have.
