On the court, again ON THE COURT, what would you change first from how we played last year?

Sorry bad poll. Most people are going to say all of the above.

Should have changed the last option to "live and breath defense and make it the most important thing to work on individually and as a team in practice all season"

All of the above!

I avoided that option though and chose the one about feeding the BE ROY. That would give the offense more balance and free up guards.

With all the talk about the offense, our defense wasn't any good either. Within league play our Defensive Efficiency was 8th of 10 teams, our 2PT defense was dead last, our rate of forcing turnovers was dead last, our block percentage was 7th, steals percentage 9th, just 7th in allowing offensive rebounds. It was atrocious.

You cannot hang your hat on 3PT defense. It's like a pitcher with wins.

The bottom line is we were a mess on both sides of the court. Why? Because the coaching is absolutely terrible. We have random lineups and nonsense everywhere. Sina got well over 30 MPG and started every BE game. He goes out and has one of his better games of the conference season against Marquette, then gets benched? How about the mysterious Ajou start at Xavier?

We've always been a mess with this stuff. Consistency and leadership are missing, and our play looks like it.

Scrap the entire offense. It's inefficient, unwatchably boring, and breeds contempt among players by stressing me-first, and-1 mix tape style playmaking.

First, you need a functional program, then we can all debate these minor on-court adjustments.

I think a much better question might be what is the number 1 priority for our AD next year. If that question were asked and knowing that Willard will be back for year six I would make finding his replacement his number one priority. I would begin compiling my list of potential candidates, put out feelers on how much interest they have in the position and do my due diligence on those candidates who have expressed interest in considering taking the job.

Agree with this. I voted for "Scrap the weave offense," but I took that as "Scrap the whole offense" since we don't really run plays. Virginia and Notre Dame have very fluid offenses that are fun to watch. When we aren't sending two guys up the sidelines looking for an outlet pass (our best "offense" by far), the offense is agonizing to watch. The weave and, my personal favorite, the screen-no-roll-three-guys-stand-around are not good offensive plays. Our talented players were able to improvise and overcome this at times when they would get hot by freelancing, but freelancing won't consistently win games in a good conference.

Isaiah Whitehead already understands what needs to change. He said it.

The TEAM- players and coaches- must sharply increase its intensity. They must have fire coming out of their eyes the second the game starts. They must maintain that focus and killer hustle every second of those 40 minutes, regardless of the score.

Second, everybody- players and coaches- need to stop being so God-D sensitive. Everything is not cause to go into a head-hanging, hand-wringing depression and a sustained mental funk. Be a determined mother f-ing killer who will simply not be stopped regardless of obstacles and inevitable set-backs. SAVE THE DRAMA FOR "SCANDAL." Kerry Washington is not on the roster.

Third, I never want to see some BS where you let the shot clock run out without trying to score when the game is not over. When SHU did that earlier this year, the other team shamelessly in-bounded the ball and tried to score at the end of the game.

Fourth, and this is very important: HAVE FUN. I know some grumpy old dudes who seem more fun. Enjoy these college years. They go fast.

Fifth, don't be a dumbbell.

It's simple. When you are about to take an ill-advised 30-foot jumper when the coach just told you to do something else, ask yourself, "Am I being a dummy?" When you drive in the paint and you're surrounded by three trees, all of whom are about a foot taller than you, ask yourself, "Am I being a dumbbell by trying to hit a layup against these three beasts... or should I kick it out to one of my two teammates who are wide open?"

Finally, your family and so-called "friends" can be your best allies... but they can also be your worst problem. Figure out what's happening in that department.

I understood the purpose behind Ajou starting. I didn't agree with it, but I understood it... until he took him out for Delgado after just over a minute. If you're going to put somebody in to be a big body for Stainbrook and help Delgado avoid fouls, then why execute it in a way that did neither of those things?

Starting Ish at Butler after playing him about 5 minutes all season and then playing him about 2 minutes total for the rest of the season is by far the most puzzling starting/roster move of the season.
