We projected the starters in part 1. Now the subs.
The three sure starters to date are Whitehead, Carrington and Delgado.
At the 3 it's either going to be Desi or Singh, both already discussed. Same with Ish or Nzei at the 4.
That leaves the rest of the roster.
My opinion only and subject to change once I watch practice.
Back up centers
1. Anderson. Has the bulk, attitude and defensive ability along with a decent offensive post game to back up Delgado.
2. Anthony. Really like this young man personally but I have to be honest. I have serious doubts about his ability to play in the Big East. Lacks instincts, lateral movement and athleticism. The game is simply too quick for him.
3. Carter. A potential future Big East player. Not an athletic stud, but he does have serviceable athleticism for his position. Not a plodder.
Developing back to the basket game and a decent rebounder and defender. Probably could have used a prep or redshirt year but it didn't happen.
Probably won't play a lot this season but that could change in 2016/17.
Back up power forwards
The aforementioned Anderson and maybe Delgado.
Back up small forwards
Soffer. After Desi and Singh and maybe Gordon, Nzei (special situations) or Ish (special situations) the only back up at this position is Soffer. A player who at this point only has one Big East ability and that's to shoot from range.
I don't see a lot of minutes for Soffer, but his ability to stroke from range does give Willard the option to use the 6-5 freshmen in special situations.
Back up guards
Gordon. First guard off the bench. Will also slide over and play some 3 in certain situations. He won't often score in double digits but he will stop opposing players from doing the same.
Slasher, rebounder and tough players with a big time work ethic. Limited shooting range and accuracy.
