If this has been addressed before, please excuse me.

In the second half against Troy, IW threw up a shot from behind the backboard that clearly swished into the basket. The basket was disallowed. I watched the replay a couple of times and IW was clearly not out of bounds, and the ball did not touch the top of the backboard.

Anyone have an explanation? Did they call an offensive foul or something? Frank

Under NCAA rules any ball that travels over the top of the backboard from behind is deemed out of bounds

IMHO that's a ridiculous rule. Then why not say any ball that crosses the out of bounds plane on the sidelines and baseline is also out of bounds?

So some out of bounds balls count as out of bounds and others don't.

Stupid.

I hadn't know that either until it was called on that play. Makes no sense that I can see.
